I have been tempted to remove the light from the Shadow and IWB it as it is just a freaking machine with "Lotsa" Boolitz in it but it is one that CKW knows how to run and she likes the light for obvious HD reasons. I have a few of those scattered about for her. (9mm CZ's)
Since I no longer own any larger calibers I do like the "lotsa boolitz" option. ;)

    Wait, um****** what?
Just having a difficult time imagining how that all played out.

There were a lot of people in Walmart and he only had a few items. He was well dressed had a nice rig on. I assumed he would be safe. Once we were in line it was hard to move over as someone had came in behind us.

I would have been great if you'd have whipped out your phone and taken some pictures to post here, so we'd all know who to watch out for.

I did not want to escalate it anymore. I made my point to him and that probably embarrassed him in front of the cashier but like I said I made my point nicely :)

I know you can, but to me, a shoulder rig with open carry would be kind of stupid...
Lately I have been using my Galco horizontal rig due to a recent hip injury, but I would NEVER use it without a cover of some kind.

I guess?? that the good news is that this "Dude" was carrying top notch equipment???

It may?? have been wise to stand to the far one side or the other of a JackWagon like this??..Bill.

I did my best to stay out of line but you know there is not much room in those check out lines hahahaha

Thanks for the reply guys!! I'm all for the 2nd amendment and not restricting our rights. I guess my posting this was to point out we all need to train and we can be our worst enemy. What if I would have been a anti? This would have given them fuel to restrict our rights. One bad apple can cancel out what the rest us have worked so hard for projecting a safe image of a responsible gun owner.

I shoot competitively so muzzle awareness is a priority. Just as hands off when you are not on the line. Was the guy a new gun owner? Who knows. The leather was a nice custom rig my guess a couple hundred dollars. The 1911 was very nice what I could see of it either a Kimber or Colt. The guy was in his late 50's early 60's. He was well dressed in western wear with high end boots. My point is when I stepped in behind him I knew he had a gun that didn't bother me at all. As someone that likes the 1911 my thoughts were maybe we could talk guns. Well that ended up being the case just not on the level I really wanted.

Thanks for the support here I don't post a bunch but had to vent..
    Shoot straight and carry on.

ps I love my 1911's but carry tupperware cause its lighter and if it get scratched up so what. I'd cry if I scratched and gouged up one of my babies LOL

I love how you politely call someone on something and they throw it on you yet they are the ones with hurt feelings. Its sometimes easier to remove yourself from the area instead of conversing with those types

This also proves my statement that just because Dad showed you to hunt squirrls doesn't mean you know how to carry a gun

what Dad? This POS is the what I post about.

I have 3 shoulder rigs. One is as we are discussing and I have never been comfy with it and never wear any of them as OC. That is just way too "LOOK AT ME I AM A BAD A$$"

If I can wear something over it comfy like then OK but not "Billy Bad A$$" style.

Not one for a drop leg holster either but I am starting to see them on occasion. Usually younger guys.
    JMHO of course.

When I see these guys OC I feel they are saying " I THINK I am a bad a$$". To me they are a joke and truth be told, if a real world situation arose...someone would would probably stick that gun where the sun don't shine. Like most here I prefer to keep my carry covered.

There's nothing wrong with open carrying if done correctly, but it doesn't sound like that's what this guy was doing. I agree that there are plenty of those who do it wrong and it give open carriers a bad name.

OP, thank you for saying something. He's just embarrassing and hopefully will think about it.

I'll second this. We (those of us who carry loaded firearms in public) are the ones who must take on this unpleasant task. Be calm, polite, and professional. If Sweepy McGungrabber gets butthurt? Start a thread on INGO!! Wait, that is what happened. Carry on!

We're (again those of us who carry loaded firearms in public) probably the only ones who will notice. If you see something, say something isn't just for terrorism anymore.

During my time in the Army they outlawed horizontal shoulder holsters. I didn’t get the memo and felt like a a$# when called out about it by a Navy dude. Don’t touch your smoke pole unless your gonna use it.

Did he tell you it needed to point at the deck and not the bulkhead? :D

I was in a check out line today and the guy in front of me had a 1911 in a shoulder rig. The gun was cocked and I hope locked. It was a sturdy rig not a cheap holster by any means. I carry daily and OC a lot my concern is this guy grabbed his gun several times. After a few times I politely asked him not to grab his gun anymore. He got defensive with me and I told him I have been looking down your barrel for the pat 5 minutes. Every time you grab it I try to get out of line but you keep twisting and sweeping every one around here. His reply was if you are afraid of guns don't buy one but it is my right to carry one. It wasn't worth starting something but we need to beware that I had a gun pointed at me today and the wearer grabbed it multiple times. When you run a horizontal Shoulder rig the gun is pointing backwards People behind you get a look down the barrel and when you grab it not knowing what your intentions are can be scary. Sometime we are our worst enemy.

    Rant over.
    Carry on safely

    I stopped reading then,
Why would someone stand and then stay put when they realize they are behind the stupid end of most likely a loaded firearm....... No answer required, Its rhetorical.....

While an open carry shoulder rig is them screaming "I'm a badass" a drop leg is them screaming "I'm a badass operator". I much prefer to stay in the gray.

Yes. He totally missed the point of a shoulder rig. For concealing large guns UNDER A COAT.

IWB carry a 1911 or a CZ-97. You can see just enough of it but it does not broadcast.

True. My 19 is barely noticeable IWB because it doesnt have the shape of a gun. I actually had a kid ask me what it was because it didnt look like anything he had seen before.
