    Not really. When I was just a kid, my father was stationed on the Independence. He used to take us on the "Dependent's Cruise", which was one time a year they would take the families of crew members for a day trip out to sea. I remember having to hold onto something to keep from falling over during one of those high speed turns. You wouldn't think something that large could lean over that far in the water, but, believe me, it can. The CO loved to show off what his baby could do.
