His remains were moved back to the States in 1948. My grandmother couldn't stand the thought of not having him home.
He is buried in the family plot along side his older brother who served in the Army Air Corps, he was a tech sergeant that kept the planes going that flew the HUMP in Burma. Also his older sister who was a registered nurse, she was in England taking care of evacuees from the main land until she went to France. She spent 30 days traveling across France in a cattle car.

Most of them decided to let them rest where they died, surrounded by their brothers in arms.
In a way they are all at home here in Normandy.
The land in which they are burried was given to the United States, and the locals cherish their sacrifices the same way they cherish the sacrifice of French soldiers who died defending that land.
