Ok guys.. so the update / progress continues.. PLEASE let me know if you’re “Skulled out” I can stop posting updates anytime and just come back with the final product??

Anyway.. Here’s a quick flash back (applies to the overall project) and forward progress.. This is for anyone who is thinking about doing something like this.. I’m such a giver. Hahahha..

Everything I do is done in (3) steps.

Lay-out
Cut-in
&
Detail

Example on the left side of the stock..


Lay-down: The basic design.

Cut-in (yes) the middle finger has (4) joints.. LOL.. I cant even begin to tell you how drunk I was when I was working that area.. hahahahaa..

Detail ~ fill in and shadow everything, know where your light source is coming from and go for it..

Here we have the right side and I’m currently working in (step 2) = my “Cut-in”

Here’s the Grip (step 1 & 2)


Lay down = (again) The basic design is complete..

Now I’m just starting on the Cut-in phase here on the right side, once I finish up the skull I’ll move on to the background and blend in the skull into it as well as give it that free hand look of 3d bones.. (At least) that’s the plan.. hahaha…

I was able to put some time into the project and I think its coming along nicely, although I did have one big FAIL.. LOL.. We’ll get to that in a minute..


The grip is coming along nicely and I should have it completed the next time I have some free to work on it..

Moving on the front (Top) handguard.. This is a big Fat FAIL… Hahahaha.. Again I don't know what I thinking here, I was trying to tie-in a dark demon to / with a dark background..

So I’m starting this piece all over again.. (Ohhh well) Hahaha..

Moving on now to the bottom guard, I still have a lot left but I’m happy with the progress thus far..

Grip is done. (Well almost.. I just found, see two or three spots I need to fix)..

Changed out the demon

To this guy, yes… I’m still working him.

Also, for what it’s worth, I still need to go back-in and add eye’s to the skulls, mainly it will be just some slit of light (yellow with or blue) with a white pupil.
