You people who are happy the R's won:

Remember this day. You won't be so happy when you realize they don't care about you or the TEA Parties. The only thing that happened yesterday was to (hopefully) strengthen the TEA Party movement.

I already know they don't care about me. When I hire a whore, I don't think she cares about me, I just want her to do the stuff I hired her to do.

All I want or expect out of these guys is to slow down Obama's agenda, which they will. They can't pass any legislation of their own unless they cooperate with him.

I'm sure at some point they'll do something you guys don't like in order to get something most of their constituents want more, and then you guys can scream "Sellouts!" to the rooftops.

Exactly. I was also pretty bummed Harry Reid is still in office. Musta been that endorsement that people said wasn't real. :):

And now, the next time some really nasty anti-gun legislation pops up and they need some Democrat support to prevent it from happening, the NRA can point to the Democrats that the NRA rewarded for not huring gun rights. And perhaps keep something from getting through.

But you live in a world where somehow you can get everything you want by taking what most people consider an extreme position and then refusing to compromise.

I think that was an unkind thing to say and reeks of jealosy. You just wish you were able to get as many of your candidates elected as they have, and be as successful in achieving at least some of your agenda. :D

Yep, we stopped Cap and Trade cold, most likely kept the last round of tax cuts in place, ensured there wouldn't be another huge stimulous bill, and instead of Obama riding his sled down the hill, he's going to have to slowly drag it up the hill.

But hey, if only the purists could convince the 95% of the people who disagree with them to vote their way, we'd have a utopia of freedom right now. A unicorn in every pot.

Who ever said the R's were against the D's agenda? Tweak the D's agenda and their methods on how they accomplish their goals and low and behold you have an R.

Trust me, when they pass Cap and Tax, don't repeal the health care bill, and only help to grow government you'll see what I'm talking about. Everyone screamed NEW BLOOD! VOTE THEM ALL OUT! and turned right around and elected the same old thing. Probably out of sheer laziness. Either way, we still lost.

So who were you pulling for?

Mostly Libertarians, but also anyone who hasn't been to office that campaigned on the side of Liberty. Which were few and far between all across the Country. Yes, some were R's and some did get elected. But not enough to make a change back to smaller government.

And now, the next time some really nasty anti-gun legislation pops up and they need some Democrat support to prevent it from happening, the NRA can point to the Democrats that the NRA rewarded for not huring gun rights. And perhaps keep something from getting through.

Won't happen. If they know what the jump in gun sales means. The recent SCOTUS rulings. The stands taken by the States. If they do try, they know the outcry will ruin them. That is if more than 30-40 people on this site stand up and do something that is. :): Either way, I see that example as a LONG shot in hell.

Besides anyone who supports Harry Reid just because he's good on gun rights needs to join the Democratic Socialists of America.

Whats this we won stuff? We didn't win anything.
If you vote for the individual and not a party, then we didn't win anything.
Blindly following any party be it Dems, Rep, or Libs is stupid and is what got us in this mess in the first place.
The same problems are going to be there because folks can't pull their heads out of their arses and vote for whats right, instead they shout " this group is better than that one"

We should remove all party labels and vote on the person. If that can't be done, then we should not align ourselves with any one party, it shows a lack of general intelligence and a narrow mindset. As if everyone in a particular group are all bad.

Since we as a nation can't seem to do this very simple thing, I don't see any real change in the future. Except maybe for the worse.

Dude, you just don't get the motivation.

I mean, unicorns are tasty critters, and there is no end of uses for that horn.

When given a choice between a Republican and a Democrat, I'll vote Republican even if I think the Democrat is basically a good person, and the Republican is an incompetent jerk.

Voting for the person rather than the party shows a lack of fundamental understanding of our political process, or a rejection of the process for some goal other than advancing your beliefs.

If you think you're accomplishing anything by voting for a Republican here, and a Democrat there, it is you who is showing....I'll be kinder than you and not attribute it to your intelligence, just to your ignorance.

Voting for party can be a mindless act, I suppose, but it can also be the sophisticated act of someone who understands how our system works and how to get the maximum positive effect from his vote.

Everything you said is absolutely true. The only argument I have is over the last comment. Many on my friends are mindless democrats with high IQ's. The difference between being smart and intellegent is the use of common sense in your decisions.

I used to think you were pretty smart. Now I realize that you're just an educated sheep. This post makes you no better than the mindless Liberals who vote straight Democrat no matter what.

Wolf, sheep, or sheep dog, we're all getting herded into one pen or another and getting fleeced. The fact that you guys keep longing for no pen - an option that doesn't exist - just means you don't get your choice of the best pen available.

So, enjoy the shearing while you bark and howl at the moon.
