After about $20k and a team of many doctors and specialists, my wife is pregnant. It's a boy. Yay!!!!! Still haven't quite accepted it yet. Seems weird. Hopefully he'll be able to fish better than I can. I can only seem to catch stick fish.

    Congratulations.

    They are a life changer.

$20,000 is quite a bit. Ours was a bit cheaper. Job loss and a six pack worked for us. 6 years of trying for us, the week my company closed down, we found out we were expecting.

My wife had a genetic testing thing done. It tested for a bunch of different disorders and downs syndrome. But it also told the gender.

I did it the old fashioned way, but though I wouldn't pony up twenty kilobux to make it happen, for all the lost sleep, expense, and stress, it was well worth it. Welcome to the world of the parent. You may not appreciate it up front, but you'll understand :) Yes, you will.

I think Thor would be a great name. Or Captain America. but I think my wife might Veto that one. I also think Iron Man is probably out. As for the cost, yeah it's a lot. but it was either this way or it just wasn't going to happen at all. We waited until we had a house and were financially stable, then surprise. Something you get warned about on prom night is somehow so difficult.

BTDT. Took almost a year to conceive DS1. DS2 came when we were actively avoiding due to me having just ingested radioactive iodine.
