Finally had a chance to run the VEPR today... very fun. Rifle was dead on target straight from the box. I stripped the firearm last night... definitely love the AK design. Mopped up some of the oil, reassembled. Tested the factory mags today, fed perfectly. Tomorrow I have three SGM 30rd mags arriving, so I will test them on Thursday.
Definitely a well made rifle, and very fun to shoot. I'm very impressed with the Kalishnikov design, it's so simple, and loose!
Im used to hard coat anodizing, and it's clear that any AK that sees use, will show it readily. I do love the distressed look that folks obtain via hand rubbing the finish... so I'm contemplating giving that a go.
Im liking this more than my ARs...
