My uncle passed recently and I was gifted a box of his John Grishams that I'm working my way through. Just finished The Whistler. Pleasant, engaging, and fast. I see what people like about him.

Looking for something else to read now that I am done with those. I like non-fiction, biographical, racing, and outdoors books

I'm a little ADD when it comes to books:

That Hideous Strength by C.S. Lewis
Doctrine and Practice in the Early Church by Stuart G. Hall
A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin

I also started Paradise Lost but no plans to go back to that one anytime soon.

Working my way through the Harry Potter audiobooks… yes, I’m gangster like that.

My work commute is almost an hour each way, so I’m finishing about one book a week and rewatching the corresponding movie over the weekend.

Hunt for Jack Reacher, pretty good so far.

Last of the Great Scouts. About Col. William "Buffalo Bill" Cody as written by his younger sister. Pretty good read so far, not nearly as graphic as some of the old west books that were first hand accounts.

Looks like I picked up a good one at the Portage library new book section. Zero Fail, The Rise and Fall of the Secret Service. Author is Carol Leoning, 492 pages. The first chapter goes into the start up of the SS. Chapter 2 goes into dealing with Kennedy after he was elected president. If you been alive a while you've heard the stories about Kennedy and his desire for women. He was a real challenge for the SS. Slipping out of the White House in the middle of the night, jumping into the back seat of a car with 2 young ladies. Returning in the early hours of the morning. Friends of the President brining female "visitors" to the Presidents private quarters. Must of been interesting times.

Memoirs of Service Afloat, During the War Between the States.
By Admiral Raphael Semmes, CSN; Capitan of the CSS raider Alabama.
    ISBN 13: 9781555211776

Written shortly after the war, from the Confederate point of view. Filled with technical 'sailing' terms pertinent to operating square-rigged warships. Predicable pro-slavery political opinions.
