Still a little strange to read on a screen instead of a chunk of dead tree, but not terrible. I'm getting used to it.
Great book.Skunk Works by Ben Rich. It is the story of the Lockheed Skunk Works from the U2 to through the F117 Stealth fighter.
Blasphemy that a True Kentucky Colonel, is reading about letters from Texas.I picked up a copy (printed in New Albany in 1858 in an $8 stack of books) at Peddlers mall yesterday of "Letters from an early settler of Texas W B Dewees, compiled in 1853....
I have no idea what its' worth but U of Texas reprints from the 1960s go for $60 plus and Amazon has paperbacks for $25 or so....
I ain't gonna lie...I feel pretty good...the only copy like mine I saw sold at an auction house and they did not list the price.....
It's a collection of letters written to a man in Louisville by his best friend from 1819 to 1840 from Texas...In 1853 his daughter (maybe) sent copies to the District Court of Texas and took the originals over to the Tribune in New Albany to be printed...mine says, "printed by the Tribune...New Albany" and is the one on the far left...
I am at letter V.....People knew how to write back then man...beautiful...
I think it's kind of rare....Leadeye would dig it hugely....

Always wanted to read through the Lord of The Rings books. So I started those this year.
Yes I started at The Fellowship of The Ring and not The Hobbit. Sue me.
For whatever reason, I decided to re-read Moby Dick. This is at least the third time I've read it, always with enough years between readings that I recall the story but not the detail.
What's it about?"The Attack" by Kurt Schlichter
