So what do you carry in your range bag?

I am just curious what others carry, I seem to carry too much stuff no matter what I am doing.. The boy scout in me always has spares, doubles, extras, more then I need and I am always afraid of having to buy something I left at home or cut my range time short because I didn’t bring it..

Please no stupid comments like, a gun, ammo… I mean what other things do you bring with you.

Also curious how much range time folks put in..

I probably don't bring enough. I just bring the basics. Whatever gun/guns I plan on shooting. Just enough ammo. Ear and eye protection.

I bring everything. extra earplugs, and mostly any and all tools I could possibly need. Heck I keep a bottle of water and a can of chunky soup in there too in case I get hungry.

    Let's see:
    - eyes/ears
    - spare eyes/ears (someone always forgets theirs)
    - targets (paper plates and fancy ones)
    - duct tape
    - stapler
    - sharpies
    - rags and hand towels
    - wet-wipes
    - small cleaning kit
    - spare mags
    - scope and gun manuals (for assembly pics and adjustment procedures)
    - Snap Caps
    - Range cards (so I don't forget them)

Ammo is in ammo cans: one for handgun, another for rifle/shotgun.

I leave my range bag packed, so I just grab it, whatever gun(s), and the ammo can(s). If I run out of something, I'll re-stock before I put it all away.

When my wife says "Sure, go ahead and go to the range", I gotta move FAST!

Interesting!! Thanks for the info.. I don't feel so bad now..

Bondhead what type of all weather note pad and pen do you use? Also the $100 in ones is awesome. LOL

Remymartin, I never thought about the can of soup, I do carry some water and the avitar is hilarious..

Eldirector - snap caps? I leave mine ready for action as well, not married but when you get the nod it's go now or get stuck doing something from the Hunnydolist...

Yep, snap caps. I'll stick one in a mag or two while I'm loading up. Practice controlling my flinch and clearing "jams".

remymartin - I gotta get me one of those holsters! Well, not FOR me, but for my wife ... for me. ;)

I use Rite in the Rain.

Rite in the Rain All-Weather Writing Paper

I just thought that if I ever needed cash in a bad situation I could use the exact amount of $$ I needed. Getting change could cause problems.

I was in Toronto during the big blackout in 2003 when we were without power for almost 4 days.

People were selling bottles of water, snacks and other things at the sides of the road because almost all the stores were closed.

You either had to give them the right amount of money or buy as much product as your money could buy or leave them with all the difference because they were not making change.

Very interesting idea with the snap caps EL.

Thanks Bondhead, I was thinking something entierly different for the dollars..lol But I see your point.

VUPD Bondhead had one on his list.

I guess there are some things I haven't thought of for mine but then I dont use my range bag as my Bug Out Bag.. It's a separate bag..

I don't have a range bag, but my running kit ( EDC/Get Home Bags as some call them) that I train with has everything I would need (hopefully). Mags, Eyes, Ears, and Med...etc..

I have a cleaning ammo can, which has all my cleaning gear in it for the guns.

I dump all my ammo into cans marked for that caliber and those are in tote.

A wooden ammo crate with range mags, staple gun, paper targets, and IFAK.

At the range however we always have one vehicle that the keys stay in the ignition and a trauma bag on the tail gate or on the ground to the rear of the vehicle.

Each rifle bag has gun specific tools and data books as applicable.

Band Aids don't help gun shot wounds....

I'd wager that most folks wouldn't know where to start, even with a good kit.

    Kudos on being prepared, though!

Forgot another thing in my bag: eye drops. I wear contacts, but it is also useful for flushing debris from they eye.

And chapstick. My wife put some in on the last chilly day. (If you didn't notice, I just went and looked in my bag!)
