It seems to me that the whole nation if not the world is waiting and watching to see what happens in the Nov elections. I don't expect anything to change right away especially with the lame duck session ahead of us, but I do look forward to knowing what to expect for the next two years.

With the riots and problems going on overseas in France and other places I was wondering if you all thought there would be problems here. Regardless of whatever side wins, I think we stand a good chance of similar problems in this country. I hate to say it, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear about large riots in the larger cities especially if the demacrats lose.

Anyway, I was just getting a bad feeling in my gut and wanted to see if anyone else out there was thinking the same way.

I wouldn't be surprised. But if violent riots were to start happening, based on the Democrats losing, that's a fight those guys really don't want to start. The U.S. is probably the most heavily armed nation in the history of the world. And that's a good thing.

I just don't expect the demacrats to be good loosers this Nov. Kinda like when a cities team looses the tournament and they have riots, I could see problems in some major cities here in a couple months.

Keith OLberman , Racheal Maddog ,and what ever his name is ED something something . to die from dehydration due to their crying .
But it will be open season on conservatives . They will have a nightly whine session. Don't expect anything real to happen for another two years .

But that will be in the real world .

Now in my fantasy world I would like to see my personal taxes cut . I've already forked out over 18k in federal taxes. Thats with claiming 3 on my W2. What the ______ .

Do you know how much economy stimulating I could do with that money.

    Sorry started to drift :twocents:

I am not sure about the lame duck session. I am sure Obama will expect his fellow Dems to be willing to destroy the party for many coming years by passing his entire agenda. I don't know if they will all march in lock step on his behalf though.

The GOP says they will try to definance as much of the programs as they can afterward. I doubt the following civil unrest will be as bad as we are seeing in some other countries but I think there will be some. I expect more crime however.

Hum.. what will occur. The democrats with NOTHING to lose if they lose in NOV will have a few weeks to ram cap & trade into law for YOUR president to sign before they lose control of congress.

In terms of riots. Seriously doubt it. Why?

    1) Welfare checks are going to continue to be paid in NOV and DEC
    2) TV will still be showing American Idol, Survivers, Dancing with Da Stars, etc..
    3) Food will still be on the shelves at the stores at a reasonable price
    4) Gas still be still around $3 to $4 a gallon

In essence all the "comforts" that those that leach from the system will still be there so why riot?

Now if YOUR president were to lose in 2012 then maybe I think you might get some riots in the major dem cities but even then not sure.

I hate to say it, but I still think Obama has a decent shot if not locked in for a 2nd term. I'm going to guess in this lame duck session that we're going to see gun control, illegals made legal, and cap and trade. I wish I had a more positive outlook for the future.

I don't think much will change. Even if the Republicans gain control of both Houses, I don't believe they will have a veto-proof majority. Now, it is possible that the lame duck Congress may try to force several things through in November and December, though. Perhaps we need an Amendment that restricts the types of legislation a lame duck Congress and President can pass. Restrict it to necessary funding and things like that.

I expect the dems to ram as much bs down the throats of us citizens as possible. Keep in mind, if the republicans do get a big majority, even veto proof, they could try repealing whatever is passed but that wont happen. This country is pretty much screwed, 32 percent of my paycheck goes to the government as it is, I firmly believe it'll be 50 percent by years end if obama and his crew have anything to do with it. Reality tells us that history repeats itself and we are in for a tough decade at least. And I could easily see riots, maybe not many this year but 2 yrs from now, oh yeah, especially if he loses. His approval is already lower then bushs when bush left office, at least according to recent polls from the AP. And on the gun control note, what guns? Mine fell into the river on that boating trip I took last summer.

Nothing. That is what always will happen.

Because we are a nation of fat, lazy, complacent people. As long as there is beer, football, and gas isn't $10 per gallon nothing will happen.

Regardless of who "wins" there we will lose. It will just be a matter of business as usual. The republicrats "plan" will go nowhere and will be forgotten post haste. The dems will do what they always do and the reps will work with them in a bipartisan fashion to see it gets done to us. Unlike others, I do not expect to see outbreaks of violence over the elections or anything. The American people, as a whole, are far too apathetic for that.

Our best case is gridlock. All of Obamas socialist crap will be stopped by Republicans. Obama lacks the ability to work with the Republicans, so he is basically a lame duck with the GOP in charge. I don't see the GOP getting the Senate, but it will be close. The press will demonize the GOP as they always do. Obama will be out in 2012 (see Jimmy Carter). Until reading this thread, I haven't considered the possibility of rioting when Obama loses, but it wouldn't surprise me.
