Money won't buy the one I will want for the rest of my life.

My parents divorced when I was 6 or 7. Four kids were too much for Mom to handle, especially in the summer, so I spent a lot of time at my grandparents' house. I even stayed an entire summer with them once. Some of my favorite childhood memories are shooting Grandpa's old lever action 22. When Grandpa passed his guns were split between his two sons (Mom and her three sisters were not interested). When Grandma passed my uncle with the 22 swindled the estate away from his siblings. I can't stand the sight of him, but I would gladly pay several times over its market value simply for its sentimental value.

I know exactly where you're at. My grandfather had an old Winchester .22 bolt-action that he bought and my dad got to use when he was a kid. But somehow it just kind of ended up in storage and when my parents divorced I never even knew it existed. I just found out about it last Christmas. So I talked to my dad today and he's gonna send it up my way (I'm from North Carolina) so that I can keep it and pass it on.

I'm so stoked to get something that's been in my family for years.

And I don't even like pistols all that much (except for Kimbers)
