Why is attendance down?
Id be willing to bet there’s a lot of factors that go into why;

stages are basic as **** and provide zero challenging aspects

same basic layouts as previous matches with little changes

people aren’t going to drive 2 hrs to a match that sucks and they are not gonna drive 2 hrs to help you set up simple as that

if you want people to start coming back stop complaining about Attendance and set up a match that is diverse and challenging or don’t do it watch your match continue to slowly die

Well....because I did. If this is true then OK. It was reported and I removed it. Not by anyone active in this thread. I am not fully aware of the politics/dynamics involved.

Max was given the same info all the other clubs in the area received. Instead of getting on board and banning someone who is detrimental to our community he went out of his way to help and welcome him. Now his match is suffering the backlash of shooters finding out that he is ok with his new friend stealing from them and the companys who support the sport

October is the Bob Trueblood Match. Bigger match, lunch provided. I would say Sept and Oct would be good months to make a come back.

I love shooting with a lot of folks I know in Kentucky, even belong to a Kentucky club, but I still think they need to change the law so that you can't marry your sister.

Neither of us are natives, but I agree KY and IN need to fix that

South Central has had matches for years and years. Some of what you describe is true and has always been that way. So I dont think that is the reason.

My understanding is the last few months the status quo has changed and the stages are quite new and varied.

The scouting report on the new asst match director at south central outlined by Madness was news to me. I am not sure how far out of the loop I am on that.

Going to go out on a limg here. Not widely known enough to drastically hurt match attendance.

Keep doing what you are doing and don't worry about people who are butt hurt because you make up your own mind about things.

Good people come to different conclusions.

If he's serious about wanting more shooters a simple solution is to publicly announce Chris Chance is no longer allowed on the property, like many other clubs in the area have done. That should give him a few more.

Max has been a match director longer than anyone I know of in this state. Running a match is a ton of work. Running a good match is even more work.

When you are ass deep in work. Any and all help is welcome.

I dont know chris chance. I am skeptical he is having much impact on match attendance.

Finding match help among the population is hard.
If you just look for "good" people help with matches. Help will be harder to find.

Plenty of real bad people shoot uspsa. Not much can be done about that.

I will go one step further. If you think this person is such a detriment to our sport contact the section coordinator and have him do something.

I know of 5 people off the top of my head who no longer attend because of Max's involvement with Chris.
