What is your favorite .40 S&W carry firearm? Share your thoughts and comparisons

I have a G23 and a Kahr K40. I shoot the K40 as well a I do the Glock. I would much rather carry the Kahr even though it is a bit heavy for it's size. I can't remember the last time I carried the Glock.

I also owned a Sig P229 chambered in .40, which was a great shooter but never made it to carry status.

My EDC is a G27 and I love it! I also have a G23 and will have the G22 in the future as well.

I have had a Beretta 96, Smith & Wesson 4006, Walther P990, Sig Pro 2340, Springfield XD40SC, Gen 2 Glock 22, Gen 2 Glock 23, and a Gen 3 Glock 22. I have fired a Gen 3 Glock 23, Gen 4 Glock 27, XDM40SC, SW99, and now own a HK P2000 V2.

Those are the one's I remember off the top of my head as far as 40's go and the one's I like the most would be my friend's SW99 and HK P2000 V2, though the HK takes a little getting used too I have discovered you have to stage or prep the trigger for accurate shooting due to the LEM trigger. Or that's how it is for me.

When I carried a .40, it was the Browning HiPower. Awesome gun! Accurate as a laser, reliable, and overall very, very sweet.

Same here. Put an Apex trigger kit and XS sights on mine and I think it's the perfect companion(don't tell my wife I said that).

Glock 27, 3.5 ghost trigger, xs big dots. Cant beat it IMHO.

I had a Springfield XD subcompact and sold it to get the Xdm 3.8 subcompact, they both feel great and shoot great, accurate and have never had a hiccup out of either of them, great guns

Just picked up a Taurus PT-24/7 in .40 today... Before that, it was a S&W Sigma.

My edc is a SW40VE that replaced my glock 22 . didn't like the g22 ruining every piece of brass shot through it and no lead bullets, trigger was to light for a carry gun also.

Did you change anything internally? They come stock with a 5.5lb trigger which is actually kind of high. I put a 3.5lb ghost trigger in and its very crisp and clean. To each his own

I carry my XDSC.40 with night sights, if I were a bigger framed man and could conceal it better I would carry my 90-Two.

Problem with Kahr PM40 is it twists in your hand during recoil and makes accurate/fast follow up shots difficult.....
That and only 5 round mag.....?
Might as well have a scandium J frame.....
