The scripture we had read at our wedding was both of our confirmation verses, and then 1 Corinthians 13.

The most moving scripture I've ever heard read at a wedding was at my brother's, and it was Ruth 1:16-17:

16 But Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. 17 Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me."

I've heard that a few weddings - it is a very good verse indeed!

My favorite verse is John 1:4.

In him was life and the life was the light of men.

It kind of sums up Christ. In him we have life. He is the light that we follow, that guides us.

    I have a few...

One that has always rung with me: Matthew 4:19 (NIV)
"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

Hanging on our wall, spoken at our wedding: 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV)
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

My EDS (Every Day Scripture): Proverbs 22:3 (NIV)
"A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it."

Yes, to John 3:16 as God's expression of His love for us. But, I must also add this one...

    Genesis 2:22

22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.

In 1984 I met my pastor of 9 yrs. for the first time..I was going through
a divorce an hard times. He was so different from any other pastor I have
ever met, even till this day...Before I left his house, I knew this preacher
had a walk with the Lord...He told me to go home an read Paslm 37. That
it was for me. Its amazing how through the years it has guided me an engrafted
itself to me. It continues to be my favorite, an probably always will be.

Not biblical, but is theorized to be older than the bible
