I got a BB gun when I was around 8-9 then got a Ruger 10-22 when I was about 11. Unfortunately the original 10-22 was stolen but I got another a few years later.

As far as hand guns go I remember shooting my uncles Browning Hi Power 9mm when I was around 12. I shot that gun very well even though it was one of the first hand guns I ever fired.

A M-16a1, serial no 1551468 built in 1969, she probably has gone to the cruncher by now but I loved that rifle. If the Army would have allowed at the time I would have bought that rifle and given her a good home. heavy sigh

Old Remington bolt action 22, mag did not work and you had to feed it like single shot. Now that I think about it I wonder if Dad did something to it on purpose to make it like that.

My Gramps taught me to shoot a rifle with a Stevens octagon Barrel .22 short pump. It had a threaded barrel and a funny looking "Muffler" as he called it.
It was a tack driver. Many many a squirrel succumbed to that little rifle.
I truly wish I had it now.

Before a real firearm - Crosman 2100 pump air rifle that I used to eliminate somewhere around 100 House sparrows and starlings. Sadly, I broke it.
Real firearm - Marlin 39A circa 1984. I still have it and love it. I poured over 100 rounds through it only yesterday, and it practically takes a surgeon to wipe the smile off my face each time I take it out to the range.

My Uncle Sam introduced me to a wide variety of weapons in the early 1970's, and for over twenty-one years he allowed me to shoot many of them at many a thing until 1996.

My favorites were his .45 auto, M-60, Car-15, and SAW.

My first gun was a single shot H&R 12g shotgun that I purchased off a co-worker at 17yo. First handgun was a Ruger 22/45 and again off a co-worker at 21. Many years went by until I got really interested in shooting. It was the gun scare after Sandy Hook that I bought a S&W M&P 9mm that started the obsession.
