My XD40 with ported barrel was a ringer and a half

it wasn't the sheer loudness, it was the piercing percussion of the ports that would really get your attention

Has to be my Weatherby 270! It would be fun to have a decibal meter and just shoot everyone of the guns mentioned in this post, I'm curious now, what is the loudest gun?

My ported, 21" 870. Separated by thick brush in a shelter-belt, my brother-in-law can always tell when I'm doing the shooting.

I forgot to put my hearing protection on just once. My eyes crossed, I had tears running down my cheeks and my head hurt so badly that I packed up and went home for the day. I'm not a 'wuss' - this puppy will definitely damage your hearing holes if you shoot it without protection.

Huh? What? Speak up, Dave, I can't hear you.
Where am I? Hold on a minute--I hear a hundred telephones ringing!

My Winchester model 94 in .32 WCF really causes a thunder boom. I also have an AMD-65 that is really loud and from time to time makes a huge fireball!
