Well I'm glad to see we all pretty much think a like. I'm like a lot of people who just pick up a couple boxes of ammo whenever I go to the store. My goal is to have 5k of each caliber, getting close and will get there as soon as I get my Dillon. Also, very good points about one man wont cut it but 5, 10, 15 will!

Hard answer for sure. For me its AT LEAST 100 rounds of all chambering I can use. In a SHTF OR I need to split ammo betwwen friends for survival I saw 2 full reloads in each gun. Enough to hunt a bit and if needed be used as a "get another gun, gun"

Then again for my own peace of mind I say 500 rds+ of rotating stock.

I puchase 2 hi-cap mags for my XD and quickly realized you eat a lot of rounds shooting with those things. I'm now increasing my nuber to about 2k+. It was alot of fun shooting however, made me think twice if I was to use them I better be able to fill them up over and over again.

I have a problem: I have two 22's one is a Henry survival rifle w/2 8rd mags and 2 15rd mags, the other is a pheonix arms hp22 pistol. I have 1,800rds of .22 for them. I am willing to let go of 500rds of it, i have a man offering 200rds of 7.62x39 in trade for it and 2 sks mags (which i dont need, i have plenty of mags) my current supply of 7.62x39 is 400rds, would it be wise to go ahead with the trade? I think it would be.

500 is your typical brick which goes for roughly $23. In this deal your paying roughly .12 cents a round for the 7.62 and the mags are free. Hell yes its a deal.

Actually it was 400rds of 7.62x39 for 500rds of .22lr and 3 sks mags.....

I am trading him 500rd of .22lr and 3 sks mags in return he is giving me 400rds of 7.62x39..

I still believe its a good deal!
