Im not a big whiskey fan at all but I tell ya what, Crown Royal Reserve is some good s***. Pricey but worth it at 43$ for 750ml. Wish they sold it in pints or half pints around here. I found the smaller bottles in the indy area years ago.

Liked Glenmorangie many moons ago but I'm not much for whiskies the last decades or so.
But the next time I'm down to Texas I will try some sotol.

Got a bottle of Corsets, Whips & Whiskey from Journeyman Distillery. It's their Buggy Whip wheat in cask strength, 120 proof. Good stuff.

TriggerTime gifted me a bottle of Angels Envy Rye. By far the best Rye I’ve ever had, serious Carmel finish, less spice than most ryes. Thanks again TT, it was well received.

Mostly a bourbon drinker myself, but Basil Hayden makes a “dark rye”. I picked some up for just under $40 as I enjoy their bourbon, and I was extremely pleased with it. Bold rye spice, super-smooth finish. I sipped it neat, and felt no need or desire to add ice or water.

Definitely love me some Crown Royal! I have a bottle of the Reserve, a bottle of the regular, and about a half bottle of the apple in the liquor cabinet now. I've been sipping on some good ol corn squeezins that my cousin brought me for my birthday back in May from down in the hills and hollers of Eastern Ky where my family lives. He showed up at the farm with a flat of jars and said happy birthday! It's an old family recipe that my grand daddy used to make and passed it down through the family over the years.

They make quite a few good options.

Bour-Rye ... which is obviously a blend of bourbon & rye
American Prairie Reserve ... which is a bourbon

They have several others. I believe most are ryes or rye blends.
Big fan of the American Prairie Bourbon from HIGH WEST!
There is American Prairie Reserve (with a sage grouse on the label) and an American Prairie Bourbon (Antelope on the label). I have had the RESERVE, but not seen it in stores for a long time. One local liquor store said they thought the RESERVE was a "special" bottling, where as the BOURBON is a standard and readily available.

I can recommend monkey shoulder if you're just getting in to scotch. If you're trying for the big leagues I was gifted a bottle of Johnny walker Ultimate 18. Very good but still not the end all be all of scotch.
