So i won a 22 golden boy last night and i can either keep it or trade it for something else same price or pay the difference. i need some help, can't make my mind up if i should keep it or trade it. i don't have a 1911 and i do have a few 22's. it would be nice to keep it in the safe and give it to my son someday, on the other hand would he rather have a nice 1911 or another AR? he's only 16 months old so i can really ask him what to do. any ideas? they are allowing me $420 in trade by the way

I have a Golden Boy and it is a fun little gun to shoot. I wish I had your problem. My teenage son loves to shoot it; he even asked me if he gets all the guns when I die.

...he even asked me if he gets all the guns when I die.

I'm sure he asked that with the best of intentions, but I would sleep with 1 eye open from now on if I were you ;)

I'm sure your son would be happy with either, but obviously a 22 would make for a much better "first" gun.

i just sold a winchester 9422 22 win mag to pick up a 308 can....i'm leaning more and more to trade it for a 1911.....it's something every safe needs. i just don't know anything about 1911's. all i know is i want a 2 tone or all stainless, and spend around 800 or 900 total...

    Right here.
Henrys' are just a blast to shoot. The Golden Boy is absolutely top shelf craftsman and quality, and they are each hand built. Their customer service is the best. I actually spoke with Anthony just today...he actually took the time out of what I'm sure was a very busy Monday morning to spend five minutes with me. Where else are you going to get that type of customer interaction?

    Keep the Henry!

thanks for all the input but i have to put a 1911 in my safe. i may have went over budget a little but i think it'll be worth it...i ordered a kimber eclipse custom II:D. the only down fall is the 3-6 month wait...about like waiting on a tax stamp.

Trade it for a 1911. Your son will probably appreciate the 1911 even more than the Henry.
