Liver. My dad and grandma liked it. Evening tried fooling us kids by saying it was steak and gravy. I smelled right through that as soon as I walked into grandmas house.

I will eat sardines and herring that my dad liked, but no pickled pigs feet
My mom would make liver and onions for my dad, but it was about the only meal that my dad wouldn’t force us to eat, any other meal he’d say “since your mother cared enough to make us dinner, you WILL eat everything on your plate”.I think mom would make us a grilled cheese or something when she cooked liver.

Definitely has a very distinct smell when it’s cooking.

When I was a contractor in Saudi Arabia, we used to sit down with the Saudis for a meal of boiled goat and rice, which was cooked in the goat water. Tasted exactly how it sounds. :puke:
When I was in the Navy, we stayed at a French Naval Helicopter base for several days. They fed us pickled cow's tongue, complete with the hair. :puke:

There’s a chicken place down here on the Ohio River that has deep fried asparagus, its so good and it’s addictive. Hopefully they’re open tomorrow, now I must have it.
I get weird cravings for canned asparagus. Fresh steamed or grilled is also excellent. But sometimes I just need some mushy asparagus.

Crazy as it sounds, au gratin potatoes. Just smelling those will make me puke. Problem is they tend to show up at a lot of catered events.
You related to my wife? She cant stand them either. I love them. Scalloped as well.

When I was in my early teens, I pigged out on fried clams at the Howard Johnson’s in Daytona beach right before boarding a flight. Whatever was in those didn’t sit well with me and I ended up pulling the puke bag as we were making our takeoff roll. I filled the bag and then some. It was power puking at its finest, and it still grosses me out to think about it.

Oddly enough, I loved the smell of liver and onions cooking when Mom would make it. Hated eating it, but loved the smell. :):

    Expired yogurt.

Ever had food poisoning so bad you could look yourself in the mirror, watch your vision gray out to nothing, and then wake up on the floor an unknown amount of time later? :toilet2:

When I bought that 25ct yogurt cup I didn't know it came packaged with the experience of dying.
Yes!! Made some smoked pork, put it in the fridge. Late one night after a few hours in the Man Cave reloading I was hungry. Warmed up some of it and it was ok tasting. In actuality, it had been left out too long. After about an hour in the morning it started.
I was so sick I didn't care if I died..........

    Every orifice was leaking......

Alexandria Egypt when on the carrier in the mid 70's. Very interesting, extremely scenic and historic. I was VERY careful not to eat or drink ANYTHING. A fellow Marine was buying food from street vendors that we couldn't even identify. He was fine, I got dysentery, as did 3/4's of the ship personnel.

That was epic and not fun.

One time I was served fresh okra by itself. It was either steamed or boiled and I couldn't get past the texture. It's fine fried or in gumbo, but not as a pile of slime.

Fried brains. I think it was cow brains. My ex-BIL made them and assured me they were delicious with scrambled eggs. I think I just ate the toast...couldn't get past the texture.
Again, when I was a kid, my dad would do just that - brings and scrambled eggs. We never had any but he would make us watch him eat it, with ketchup.
