Don't know if this is at all relevant, but when I was selling cars (late 1991-mid 1995), our dealership was put on license probation for various bookkeeping technical violations (at least that was my interpretation). Part of the probation was that we had to post a 16x16" sign (supplied by the state) that stated that if any customer had had a complaint about a car we sold, they were to call the Secretary of State Dealer Licensing Division directly and s phone number was given.

When people asked about the sign, I would say: "look how confident we are that you'll be satisfied. We're so sure you'll love the car, that we aren't scared to post the complaint line number. Write it down if you want to; you'll never need it."

It worked.
