OP, be sure to read the fine print on some of those Gov discount programs, they specify active duty military on a lot of them. I too qualify for some of the discounts, but have been disapointed on a couple of occasions when I went to make a purchase only to find out that it is only for active duty/retired & LEO.

Fine print read. I'm golden. All sources I have found do cover the private sector in particular job descriptions and employers.
