awe man, the teacher is here to make the class settle down and stop having fun.

ULSC after the shooting is something I only do in a match or organized group practice setting where we follow ipsc rules/practices. I don't UL after every drill when I'm practicing (unless I'm not wearing a holster for some reason). I don't do it when I dryfire. Like anything in life, common sense must be applied. I'm not a speed ULSC'er, I "relunctantly reholster" :)

You know you're in trouble when I'm the one who kills the fun.

I absolutely believe you. I also absolutely know that there are enough people who do otherwise (who are so conditioned to unload and show when they are done shooting that they almost can't stop themselves) that it's worth making the point. Doing it intentionally is one thing. Doing it as a conditioned response isn't so much fun in my book.

I think I'll be able to make the match at AtlantaCC on Sunday. I'll be extra spiffy with my cane in one hand, my pistola in the other, after I'm done shooting a stage when I look at all the targets I can still see and then unload when I'm good and ready. I may even yell "TACTICAL!" and jack a round onto the ground each time I reload.

So to get back on topic, here is a video of mme shooting the match on Saturday. I didn't realize how fat I was or how slow I was until I reviewed the tape. If you are repulsed by obesity or easily upset by poor shooting, I recommend against watching.

Jackson and Jason did quite well. They are also a lot of fun to watch and shoot with. They both are very fundamentally sound and will be giving production shooters headaches. I'm not sure they shoot anything other than Alphas and in respectable times WITH their carry gear.

I thought A's were the only hits that counted? :dunno:

Thanks, Mike. It was a great help having you, and the other experienced guys, in our squad to show us the way.

Jackson ran his exact carry gear, minus concealment. The only thing that deviated from my carry gear was a Comp-Tac holster instead of appendix carry, to stay in Production division.

On a more serious note, I certainly learned that having the most A's doesn't do you any good if you're too slow. I had the high points, or one of the higher levels of points, on five of six stages on Saturday. However, I was slow as the dickens and it ended me up half-way down the score sheet.

Same deal in Statesville, NC in January. I guess I know where I need to focus. I am way too slow.

You need the points (accuracy) and you need the speed to do well. One of them is not enough. It will come if you practice.

Some of it comes from big things. I forgot to reload once. In one stage I reloaded an extra time and that threw me off. I also had an FTF which hung me up on another. But there are plenty of small things. My reloads are pretty slow, and I'm not too efficient moving through the course. I'm also slow at getting on the sites at critical points. Some of those I can work right here in the living room if I just get off my bum.
