Mine's a lot more traditional I guess, i'm happy with it the way it is! I do find the stock and grip change way better though, major improvement for me. :yesway:

    Stock: Ace skeleton

    Grip: Magpul MOE

    Hand Guard: Stock M4

    Light: None

    Sling mount: Standard mounts

    Sling: USGI

Charging handle: Standard, but one with a medium latch may be nice

BUIS: N/A, use A2 rear sight

    Optic: N/A

My "ideal" m4 is probably going to fall into one of three flavors that I tend to rotate between. First off I call any AR with a 16" barrel an M4 so forgive me if that bothers any purists out there.

My ideal flavor of an M4:
    1.) 100% Reliable
2.) Accuracy capable of headshot at 300 yards or better. If it's not that accurate, then I have no interest in the rifle.
3.) Dissipator design with rifle length sights on 16" barrel. I don't see a good reason why not to.
4.) Stock, grip, forend to be whatever fits you the best. So many flavors to pick from, but I went the MOE route.
5.) If no optic, then fixed iron sights, not folding.
6.) A flashlight somewhere that works for you is never going ot be a bad thing.

My second favorite type of M4:
    1.) Same as above.
    2.) Same as above.
3.) Folding iron sights with a red dot optic. I personally like to use a red dot without seeing all the clutter of iron sights.
    4.) Same as above.
    6.) Same as above.

My third favorite type of M4:
    1.) Same as above.
2.) Accuracy able to hit the bottom of a pop can at 300 yards.
3.) Folding iron sights with a variable power scope over the top of a heavy bull barrel, with a light crisp trigger.
    4.) Same as above.

It would appear that you and I have very similar tastes. The only thing I think I have different is the Troy BUIS rather than Magpul.

    IMG_1606.jpg

    LMT lower
    Battle Comp
    BCM 12.5" Kino upper
    Aimpoint T1
    CMC flat trigger
    Surefire Scout
    Troy BUIS
    BAD ambi safety

    Magpul:
    MOE handguards
    MIAD
    CTR
    ASAP
    RSA
    MS3
Scout light kit (modified to my liking)
    AFV2 (modified to my liking)

    Larue:
    T1 mount
    Scout light mount
    RISR

I'm very pleased with the setup at this point and there isn't anything I'd change other than to possibly add a suppressor.

Pretty much like this, except it now has an LMT SOPMOD stock on it.

About the only thing I'd add is a PEQ-15 and a set of PVS-21s. I'm really digging the Block II SOPMOD M-4s though.

This is how I prefer to have mine setup.

    Vltor Imod stock
    BCM Mod 4 CH
    DD Fixed Sights
Aimpoint Micro T1 in Larue LT660 mount
    Forward Grip

It still need a sling and different grip though. Im trying to decide between a VCAS 2 point or an SOE single point sling.
