It really is amazing that it's hanging in there. Torn and shredded, but still flying.

Edit: Well, maybe. You'll have to rewind the stream a couple hours to see where it eventually went black.
That flag's been thru a lot worse and it'll be back.

    Just sayin'.

    Day 1 from Florence
Horses were moved to high ground yesterday
Kubota UTV, mower, and log splitter moved to high ground yesterday
Very sleepless night - high winds and moderate rainfall
    Main power out at 2am
    On generator backup
Have satellite tv, internet, and phone services
    Large trees down and uprooted
All sizes of tree limbs and branches down
Our 1/2 mile long driveway blocked in several places with trees that took out the power lines
We still have a relatively clear path out for vehicles through trails in woods
NE Cape fear river near us is still predicted to crest at about 15 feet over flood stage - that would put water 4 feet deep in cabin
We still think the river will not get that high
Still have high winds and light rain (not enough rain to raise the river to predicted levels)
We are planning on evac of dogs and us at first light tomorrow in our John Deere gator
Planning on moving vehicles and rest of equipment today

    Good luck olhorseman!

has it been quite a while since a storm rolled through there? Are these the weak limbs/trees that havenít been stressed in a while?

Thanks! Hurricane Matthew rolled throu here 2 years ago. The wind speeds were about the same as Florence but we had a lot more rain very quickly. Water got to about 50 feet of the cabin. Lost a lot of trees and limbs during Mathew.
So far no damage to any buildings. The predicted flooding confuses the hell out of me. The river level is only 2 feet but is expected to rise 14 feet more in just 36 hours and more after that to 24.5 feet. We are just not having that much rain here or upstream. Storm surge will be minimal 40 from the coast.

Even after reading that, I'm pretty sure we got the whole story just from the video.
