    Senator Braun,
I am writing to you because I have serious concerns about for position on vital 2nd Amendment issues after reading your comments on WIBC.com and in the Indy Star.

When I see a Republican Senator from Indiana saying he is “open to considering a high-capacity magazine ban” it calls my support for your election into question. You used these words referencing the (quote-unquote) “assault weapons ban of 1994” and compared it to the bump-stock ban as something easy to do. Again, when I see a Republican Senator from Indiana using the language of the left it is concerning to say the least. The words “in common use at the time for lawful purposes” should be familiar. They were in the DC v Heller decision (2008), citing US v Miller (1938) concerning rights affirmed by the 2nd Amendment.

Legislation passed under emotional situations is rarely logical and tends to only impact the law-abiding. The National Firearms Act of 1934 was in response to criminals such as Bonnie Parker, Clyde Barrow, and John Dillinger. The wait to take possession of a suppressor (which decreases the decibel-level of a firearm to that of a jack-hammer) is now nearly a year. The Gun Control Act of 1968 was a response to the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy. Guns which were banned included the iconic Walther PPK. This legislation significantly impacted the ability of poor Americans to exercise the essential right of self-defense by raising the price of firearms. In describing what would result in the renewal of the (quote-unquote) Assault Weapons Ban of 1994, a DoJ Analyst stated, “small at best and possibly too small for reliable measurement”. Again, legislation passed under emotional situations is rarely logical and tends to only impact the law-abiding. Criminals don’t obey the law.

Joe Donnelly is no longer an elected official from the State of Indiana largely because Hoosier gun owners didn’t trust him with our 2nd Amendment Rights. Every reply from Senator Donnelly was six paragraphs of speaking out of both sides of his mouth without actually saying anything. His no-vote on confirming Justice Kavanagh sealed your victory; in no small part from Indiana’s gun owners paying attention to the actions of our elected officials.

Never forget where you are from, and who you represent.

    Thank you,

Done, took yours as a base, modified and made it my own and sent it. Thanks for posting the info. Hopefully he hears us. I made it clear I wasn't accepting anyone giving up my rights as an "appeasement strategy" and that 2A supporters had long memories and vote strongly based on these issues.

If you care about the second amendment, plan to be there. Bring your spouses, kids, brothers, sisters, parents, cousins, friends, and strangers. Well, maybe not strangers.

Let's have a strong showing and request that Senator Braun stands firm on any anti-2A bills that hit the senate floor.
You going to be at the libary tomorrow abnk?

Thanks for the link. I wrote my own letter but it was similar to yours. Hope Braun gets his head out of his butt.

Did everybody else who sent him a nastygram get a nice reply that goes...

I am an avid hunter, a National Rifle Association member, and stand 100 percent in support of the Second Amendment...

I doubt he quite understands what 100% support for the 2A means to most gun owners.
Necessity is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.

I have had no reply from any of our Congress critters or the President yet. Have sent multiple emails and hand written letters as well

EDIT. Just received the same email from Braun. What BS. "I stand 100% with the 2A but we need to strengthen background checks, add red flag laws, and not allow modifications that make them like military weapons" F U Braun!

Yep, got the Fudd response from Braun. I replied to it with emphasis on my points, and of course the email address that is used as the reply address doesn't exist so a reply bounces...

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:
Office of U.S. Senator Mike Braun (contact@braun.senate.gov)
The email address you entered couldn't be found. Please check the recipient's email address and try to resend the message. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk.

His response is pure Fudd, and in my opinion worse than if he was straight up with what he believed.
He seems to see no responsibility to uphold the constitution and that is a problem.

Me and CBhausen made the trip to Anderson today. He called a bud, who brought a bud. We were only outnumbered 17-4. After action report to follow.

No I used the old Army term "sack up". In my letter said quit being a weak Republican and as we say in the Army "sack up" and Protect the 2A and support the people that voted for you. I told him to quit being afraid of the Socialists and stand up for his law abiding gun owning constituents.
