And also, who would carry a 9mm for self defense? The only handgun round worth carrying is a 45. And Hi Point and Taurus suck.

There, I did it too. Look Mommy! I trolling! I trolling!

    You forgot: Glock Kool-Aid Troll

OP if you are serious about your post than read the many many many threads on this subject.

What's with the masquerading as cops in troll world, lately? Some secret cachet to it? Just that time of year, I guess.

Oh, and if OC were not advantageous then all cops would CC on duty, since there's no advantage to OC, right?

I'm giving this one the benefit of the doubt. He does sound and speak like a LEO although he may be a troll. The two are not necessarily contradictory.

And if OC were advantageous, it wouldn't matter if most uniformed cops carried OC. You see the uniform you pretty much know they are armed. That is one of the very few OC arguments that doesn't carry any water. If you KNOW the person is armed does it matter if they conceal it or not? And quite a few LEO carry concealed on duty. Undercover, plainclothes, etc.

OP: The supporting reasons many choose to OC are here in several threads.
If you don't agree with those reasons, that's fine. Carry however you like and for whatever reasons you choose - I support that.

Just quit claiming there couldn't possibly be a reason for someone to do it any other way than yours. Feigning ignorance is not much of a debate.

    Dang! :ugh:

I was off secretly practicing my tactical element of concealed defensive surprise in the basement. :D

Can anyone list a few errrrrr even one damn tactical advantages to OC......Ive been lurking here for awhile and soooo many threads .....I was ocin and X happened X= some negative stuff........Why in the world would anyone OC.........

As has been touched on in other posts you are assuming that the only reason to do something is if it confers a tactical advantage. I do very few things based soley on the tactical advantage of doing so. For example, I ate my breakfast at the kitchen table near a window rather than eating it down in the basement where I would be less vulnerable to snipers and I wore a suit and tie to work rather than some sort of uniform with camouflage and a helmet. There are reasons for OC other than pure tactical advantage.

Somebody is not aware of his audience here.
"I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person"
He either must be on vacation with nothing else to do, or didn't get what he wanted for Christmas. and he's venting.....

I OC and I CC. I have even OC'ed a Draco AK-47 pistol once. Talk about the attention. It hung from my shoulder.
It's my right to do so, but I don't think I will be doing that again. The mall cops don't think to highly of an AK-47 pistol.

The advantage is obvious. Algore says concealed carrying causes global warming. You do love the planet.... don't you?

I didn't read the rest of the thread but I think it's safe to say that X is never a tactical disadvantage... :dunno:

Tactical advantages would be speed, ability to carry larger caliber with more rounds, deterance.

Being stoped for violating a rule isn't a tactical disadvantage at all... think about it. I already expect others to know I am open carrying, how is somebody telling me I cant a disadvantage, you leave.

I used to keep it concealed. Mom said I had to. As I've gotten older, I may whip it out from time-to-time in the open. So far, I get some funny looks - lots of appreciative gasps - but that's it.

Wait... what are we talking about?

If you KNOW the person is armed does it matter if they conceal it or not?

Yes. There are other factors for choice beyond visibility.
Taking only the hidden aspect out of the mix still leaves size, body placement, comfort, ease and relative speed of access, retention methods, etc. which may still cause folks to prefer either way.

And quite a few LEO carry concealed on duty. Undercover, plainclothes, etc.
Those undercover plainclothes officers are usually trying to get in closer to the criminals without alerting or scaring them off in order to apprehend them.

I'm not hoping or trying to engage or catch bad guys and I'd prefer that they just avoid me.

I'd call this a mission specific difference

...so it should count as a tactical reason for the OP. ;)

i practice concealed draw a lot and really no noticeable difference to my oc draw. yes theres the chance of catching it on something, but once again it comes back to practice.
