I grew up with DST so it was really weird at first when I had to deal with IN time...but I got used to it and then they went and changed it on me

Same here. I'd prefer that the whole country just quit using DST. It's a stupid, outdated concept that serves no purpose. That said, my second choice is for IN to follow the rest of the country.

As much as I hate DST, I'd glad we're finally changing with the rest of the country. It was a PITA to keep changing timezones every six months. It made doing business out-of-state a giant headache.

    :+1:

I have always worked for large corporations that do business nationwide and not being on DST was always a giant pita.

I personally love it and think it's one of the best things we've done as a State in years.

Don't you like being able to be out HCFG, MCFG, LPPL, or other outdoor range later in the day? The ability to play an entire 18 holes of golf after work? I certainly do.

And I can change all of the clocks in about 5 minutes. Hell, some of them change themselves now!!!

Exactly...and that's what happened. Oh well, it's not that big of a deal really. I only have to change 2 clocks, my truck and my stove. 30 seconds max on each

When Indiana switched to wonderful, patriotic, productive concept of DST, WBAA ran a program on why people opposed DST. Difficulty changing clocks was the main reason driving the anti-DST movement.

Maybe someone needs to start a business of changing clocks. Drive anyone in a white van showing people to change their clocks. You'd be real busy twice a year.:D

lol, I've never had a problem figuring out how to change clocks, even in any of my cars. :dunno: But I do have a white SUV

Of all of life's complications, DST ranks pretty low on the list for me. Being from Michigan, I grew up with it, so it's not something that's terribly bothersome. I also like having more light when I'm actually conscious and am able to us it, rather waste it on snoring while it's sunny at 5:30 a.m. ...but that's just me, perhaps. ...oh yeah, and the rest of the civilized western world (at least, practically) does it too. ;)

China tried it once. They thought it was stupid, too. :noway:

They even made the next logical leap and said screw time zones. :rockwoot:

The Chinese are very wise when it comes to time. :oldwise:

I HATE it! It is a PITA that serves no purpose.
If we are going to follow DST we should be in the Central time zone so we are closer to solar noon. I hate it when the hottest part of the day is late afternoon, early evening.

dst is the worst thing i have ever had to live with. for the past 3 years i have to get up at 330am, so for me to get 8 hours of sleep i need to be in bed by 7pm. and the sun is still fully up and shining in my room until 10. i have resorted to pepboys 2.5% window tint and blackout blinds, which works if i can pull myself in from the wonderful outdoors before sunset

Our day is the same length regardless of whether we change our schedules twice per year.

Our day is the same length regardless of whether we change our clocks twice per year in an irrational effort to convince ourselves that we aren't changing our schedules and that our day is now somehow longer.

    The Chinese know this. :D

river, by being in Eastern we are in sync with a vast majority of the U.S. population on the East Coast and we have a longer day by being on the edge of the zone. Win-win.

photo-periodicity remains the same regardless of the number we humans attach to it.

I get up for work at 0330 and I hate going to bed in the middle of the day:)

I guess I just hate changing the clocks :):

Since daylight savings time is now much longer in duration than it used t be and standard time is much shorter than it used to be I recommend this.

We call Daylight savings time regular time and standard time daylight waisting time.

I think Indiana was perfect as the land where time never changed. Now only AZ is the lone hold out.

The first year I refused to reset my clocks but sooner or later I fust had to give in.

DST worked against my business. If it actually wanted to do anything then having DST in the winter when you could actually use the light in the late afternoon instead of having folks go to work in the dark and come home in the dark.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here. In the winter months (Nov-Mar), we are exactly the same as we used to be prior to implementing DST. It had no effect whatsoever on during the winter.
