That reminds me, whatever one thinks of Sarah Palin, she sent a son off to war for our country.

You can mock her style of speech or her accent. You can mock how she is overly cheerful in order not to appear threatening. However, Sarah Palin, unlike so many in our current "leadership", has, to use our President's phrase, "skin in the game".

I was taught that you always stood up for the one that is attacked.

The media always attacks the best people. ALWAYS believe the opposite of what they say. They are the ones that want to find more dead after a tornado. Believe me they don't want to talk to you as a survivor, they would much rather have a picture of your dead body. Better ratings. So take all the all the cut and paste of Sarah and throw it away.

Any how as i was reading The Founders Second Amendment by Stephen Holbrook last night i ran across this.

General Gage, Royal Governor of Massachusetts Colony conveys the events of April 19, 1775 to Lord Dartmoth.

I am to acquaint your Lordship having received Intelligence of a large quantity of Military Stores being collected at Concord, for the avowed purpose of supplying a Body of Troops to act in opposition to His Majesty’s Government, I got the Grenadiers and Light Infantry out of Town under the Command of Lieut Col Smith of the 10th Regt and Major Pitcairne of the Marines with as much secrecy as possible, on the 18th at Night and with the Orders to destroy the said Military Stores; and Supported them the next Morning by Eight Companiys [sic] of the 4th the same Number of the 23d, 47th and Marines, under the Command of Lord Percy. It appears from the Firing of Alarm Guns and Ringing of Bells (Huh! They used bells in the towns to alert the patriots. I didn’t remember that from History class, Thanks Sarah.) that the march Lieutenant Colonel Smith was discovered, and he was opposed by a Body of Men within Six Miles of Concord; Some few of whom first began to fire upon his advanced Companys [sic] which brought on a Fire from the Troops that dispersed the Body opposed to them; and they proceeded to Concord where they destroyed all the Military Store they could find, on the Return of the Troops they were attacked from all Quarters where any Cover was found, from wence it was practicable to annoy them, and they were so fatigued with their March that it was with Difficulty they could keep out their Flanking Parties to remove the Enemy to a Distance, so that they were at length a good deal pressed. Lord Percy then Arrived opportunely to their Assistance with his brigade and two Pieces of Cannon, and Notwithstanding a continual Skirmish for the Space of Fifteen Miles, receiving Fire from every Hill, Fence, House, Barn, &ca. His Lordship kept the Enemy off, and brought the troops to Charles-Town from whence they were ferried over to Boston.*

    TWO OBSERVATIONS

    1. “English” rules of capitalization were odd.

    2. Some, who purport themselves to be really smart, and accuse others of being really dumb, should read more.

Wow! A lot of Palin bashing going on. Sounds like the "left" is "freaking out". :nailbite: So far, she hasn't said she's running. :chillpill:

As far as I'm concerned (almost) anyone is better than "Dictator" Obama!
(At least she doesn't have the "Chicago Politician" stigma to deal with.)

    • Did Paul Revere shoot a gun or ring bells while passing homes or villages? No, he was trying to avoid capture.

    • Did Paul Revere warn the British "as he's riding his horse through town?" No, he gave them false intel after being captured.

    • Did Paul Revere tell the British, after being captured, that the colonists would oppose the British soldiers? Yes. Was it a warning to the British? Not really. They already knew that the colonists opposed them and that the colonists were armed. The British were already on their way to seize illegal arms and munitions stored by the illegal colonial militias in Concord.

    • Her statement implies that Paul Revere was riding his horse through towns, ringing bells and shooting his gun. Yes, there are articles that mention ringing bells in different towns, but I am yet to see one that says specifically Revere himself was riding, ringing bells, and shooting his gun.

    • He did NOT ring bells with the intent of warning the British that they weren't taking our arms. He DID give them false intel after he was captured. Revere set out with the intentions of warning the colonists, not to look for British to warn. She says: "He who warned, uh, the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms, uh, by ringing those bells,..." Palin's vision of the ride implies that Revere was riding around ringing his bells at the British and yelling "You're not gonna be takin' away our arms!"

Further proving this point, theamericanrevolution.org says: "Revere did not shout the famous phrase later attributed to him ("The British are coming!"), largely because the mission depended on secrecy and the countryside was filled with British army patrols;" Sooooooo he probably wasn't trying to make too much noise. Don't ya think?

    She's wrong.

I particularly cherish the time they fed him the wrong teleprompter speech and he read it all, straight faced, as if he were the Irish Prime Minister.

Obama Thanks Himself, Irish PM Repeats Speech in Teleprompter Meltdown - FoxNews.com

That was just a sign of his extraordinary intellect, though. While he was reading that speech he was writing his memoirs in another part of his head, composing a symphony with another part, and developing the raid plan for Seal Team Six to use on OBL's compound while also solving that morning's NYT crossword from memory. Because he's just so brillianter than everybody.

Laugh if you want, but if they both sat down to an IQ test, I'd put my money on Bush over Obama. I fail to see any level of intellectual exceptionalism in the man. And if we're comparing communication ability, Palin is about a hundred times better.

I think this guy is an attractive front man for the hardened socialists he's appointed to all the key non-Senate confirmed positions that run the administration. I think he's Valerie Jarret's puppet, and has been groomed by her his entire career. I think she makes all the close calls.

Listen my children and you shall hear of the midnight ride of Paul Revere.
On the 18th of April in 75, hardly a man is now alive.......starts the poem, I think, of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. It has been many years since I read it along with the Song of Hiawatha. I do not think that Bush, O'Bummer or Palin would score a 1600 on their SATs. I sure did not. Sarah will do well to keep her cute little mouth closed more than she does so as not to give the lamestream media more ammunition to use against her.

That's what the media want, for her to keep her mouth shut.

All conservatives and Republicans are placed on one of two lists by the media, and people keep falling for it, over and over.

All conservatives and Republicans are either bumbling idiots or evil heartless geniuses.

    Bumbling Idiots:

    Dwight Eisenhower
    Gerald Ford
    Ronald Reagan
    George W Bush
    Dan Quayle
    Sarah Palin

    Evil Geniuses:

    Richard Nixon
    Newt Gingrich
    Karl Rove
    Dick Cheney
    Donald Rumsfeld

There is a third smaller category, "moderate Republicans" or "mavericks," but they turn evil or stupid for an election cycle if they happen to be running for President.

    Moderates or Mavericks

George Bush (no one could reasonably call him stupid or evil, so he became "out of touch")
    John McCain
    Bob Dole

Don't buy in to the media's BS. Had they so chosen, they could have easily turned Gore, Obama, Biden, Clinton, Pelosi, and many others into bumbling idiots, and Hillary, Harry Reid, LBJ, and Carter into evil geniuses.

They set the story line and then pound it until even their supporters can begin to believe it.

When Paul made the famous ride, we were not yet Americans, so in fact he was warning British colonists that British loyalists were coming and were in fact intent on taking the armory to put down the impending rebellion.
