i was debating on putting my input in on this but IF this is true. you might want to rethink the whole carry thing for yourself and press charges take some defense courses. plus you should reconsider leaving a firearm in your car especially with this guy around he has already shown some kind of interest in it by asking if you would sell it to his wife. given the so called trouble with the law in his past its likely he might just steal it from you. man up get new friends dont leave your gun in the car.

When you see someone you just had a confrontation with, waiting for you in the parking lot, he's probably not there to apologize. ( especially if he's a known d-bag that's "been in trouble before" ) At that point you have 2 choices, go back inside, or continue on and strike first. You have already lied to the police, so there is no recourse there. But you did have a confrontation with him inside, in front of other co workers. Go to HR and inform them of his harassment. If you're not going to take care of the bully yourself, start getting documentation of his actions. Maybe he is also scared of losing his job due to violation of your employers policy. This advice is based on the assumption that this story isn't complete and total bs. ( and if it isn't , I'm left shaking my head in disbelief anyway)

Don't drink your self into oblivion, drink light and responsibly, and always maintain your firearm on your person.

I suggest a small glass of scotch, cognac, or simply stopping at one beer in respect to your own responsibilities as a LTCH holder. If you wish to be a party going heavy drinker, I suggest you drop your LTCH because you aren't responsible enough to have one.

If a place doesn't allow you to carry, don't give them your business, since they are violating your rights in the first place. And a violation of your constitutional rights is the only thing I see as blatantly illegal. (Obviously most crimes are a violation of other's rights, so that shouldn't sound like a radical concept to you)

There are various ways you could have handled this. Please refer to the Billy Bad@$$e$ in this thread for instructions: https://www.indianagunowners.com/fo..._defense/190607-got_my_gun_grabbed_today.html

Seriously, IF this happened as the OP describes, an assault has taken place and co-worker has broken the law and charges should be filed. This guy obviously has some kind of criminal past, do you REALLY expect it to stop with just this one incident? Not likely, in fact, it very well could escalate. Be ready to protect yourself, be it with whatever you have nearby in the near future. Personally, I'm thinking that if you had carried the gun with you, he might have thought twice about punching you in the parking lot. I know most people would think twice--this guy sound like he could just be stupid and in line for the Darwin Awards for 2012.

are you referring to the op or the co-worker?
Seriously why would you walk around with an empty holster That's like having a paddle and no canoe. I can seed taking out the gun to run in the post office real quick, but for a night of bowling?
He probably didn't "hit you in the face" he probably bitc# slapped you, and with good reason.

Assault is assault regardless how harmful the means are, it's using force against someone.

I don't care if he just gave the OP a slap, it's still assault. Ever noticed that touching a police officer can get you assault charges even if it's literally just a touch and nothing more?

Threads like these bring down the collective IQ of the gun owning community.

By 2013 I'll be trying to read slang, grunts, and fart jokes.
