So, what do you keep in your vehicle and why did you chose it?

Not as much as we had in my old one. Yet.

I have been thinking about should I carry something in my car. I drive 100-150 miles a day for work so I could be away from home if stuff gets bad. Good news my employer doesn't care if I CC but I'm in schools a few times a day.

First thought is I need a rifle and something I wouldn't be heart broken if it got stolen. My SKS fits that nice but not sure I want to be the guy walking down the road with a SKS in hand. So I think I will put my EDC (G17) in my car bag so I will have something if the need arises.

Hint: An AKM-clone w/a folding stock will fit in a tennis bag or a large duffle. And, not to be a smart-alec, but if you have a G17 for EDC, why would you need another pistol to carry in your vehicle while you're in it?

I got to fly on a gunnery pass once in a G-model Cobra (the ones with the mini-gun and chunker in the nose turret). I really can't decide which was more fun, the mini-gun hosing a target or the chunker blowing chunks out of the landscape.

Well, I got my car gun out at a trip to the range Friday and I have to say that I am seriously considering changing it to something else. I really liked the idea of a breakdown gun and the 22lr is often thought of so innocently that my papoose seemed like a good fit. When I fired a couple shots with it I saw thY my sights were off since the last time I shot it. With the type of sights that are on there the rear sight can get wiggled enough to be off target on rabbit sized targets at 50 yards.

I'm thinking about looking for a keltec sub 2000 that takes glock mags or something else similar to my papoose. For now I'm going to replace my papoose with my folding 10-22 until I figure something permanent out.

I keep a tactical shotgun in 12 gauge of course. It is loaded with 00 buskshot slug 00 buckshot and so on. I believe that for all around and only wanting to pack one gun all of the time it is the best. But if going out for the weekend i always carry my .380 s&w body guard.

On me is a S&W M&P and a Sig P238. In the car is an AR, Remington 700 SPS Tactical and a Sig P228. Some times more but that's the minimum.

I love it when a "company man" makes a statement like that. I too have had a similar discussion and I couldn't care less what they say. LOL

I was just thinking about this topic again and I thought this thread needed to be raised from the dead.

I'm curious about what kinds of changes people have made.
