i have a know it all "ex ranger" at work. was talking with another coworker about shooting a supressed .22lr at the range, and he asked if the guy was leo or military, i said no, he just wanted a suppressor. he told me that you had to be in the military or law enforcement to own one and that normal citizens cannot purchase them. i went on to explain the nfa process and he then proceeded to tell me that i was wrong, and that only dealt with machine guns. i ended the conversation right then and there, like most conversations with this character about everything else in the world. there is one at every job.
