My wife received her's today. Fingerprinted and mailed everything off Mar 25. Non l1 no criminal history. Looks like the wait time is getting shorter. Took me 5 months and her 4 months. It's getting better guys. Good luck.

I was fingerprinted about 4 years ago when I got my other gun permit but nothing else. They told me I have a arrest on my background but I have not ever been locked up. That is the fustrating part about all of this. Will they deny me my ltch.

The email I got said you may not have a criminal record, but we have to verify. If you are "in the system", you get flagged.

Applied 3/17/13 online. Non L1 @ Lake County Sherrifs 3/18/13. Paid LC with money order and sent ISP a money order with my prints.

Of note: Did not list previous misdomeaner traffic violations (happened before 2K). I was also finger printed as a child because of the uptick in reporting of child abductions.

Just 10 minutes ago, found that sweet pink paper in the mailbox!

Keep hope alive the back log is over!

Thanks! Local fixed it, and said it would be at the top of the list. Still a little aggravated that I paid extra and drove 30 miles to be fingerprinted, and it took this long. I know everyone makes mistakes. I'm hoping it will be here soon! :)

I contacted my State Rep. as to the illegality of the wait times currently being forced on people. He is talking to people. My wife submitted paperwork in February. Haven't heard anything.
Thanks for the phone number, I'll try calling.

L-1 on 5/28 just had a phone call from the state police saying mine was issued yesturday and should be here by the end of the week. Then off to staples for some copys

Thats awesome. I hope I have that kind of turn around on mine. I applied earlier this month. They told me current processing time was about 8-12 weeks...but who knows how accurate that is.

That's odd...I talked to one of the supervisors at ISP today (I actually got thru)....and he checked on my APP today as well.

He told me that they just started working on mine in JUNE.

I applied online on 12/30/12....then I did my fingerprints L1 on 1-7-13 and the ISP received my app on 1-14-13

I'm a former permit holder within the past 10 yrs (let it expire)....and I have minor crim history with a 23+yr old non-violent misdemeanor..by the way.

He said it could take up to 5 more weeks.....can you believe that !?!?!?

As of right now...here's my wait time so far:

    197 DAYS...as of today (07/30/2013)

    OR "Roughly":

    6-1/2 months+
    28 weeks + 1 day
    4728 hours
    283,680 minutes
    17,020,800 seconds

Wow. There have been a couple of 8 month waits, but they were for incorrect info on the app. One guy didn't check the arrest record box when he had a conviction.

I think Fallen Angel waited over 8 months, or maybe over 6. Don't remember why, tho. :dunno:

If he forgot to check the box, then does that mean they can penalize him for providing false information? Or does it depend on him getting the permit, then committing a violent crime to actually get punished for it? I know on the app it says providing false info can lead to fines/imprisonment.

I emailed both my state rep and the governor's office last week (been waiting 5 months - L1, no record). No response from governors office. I heard back from the state rep's office less than 48 hours later letting me know they had contacted ISP for an update. Then I got an email yesterday which indicated ISP cited a clerical error as the reason for the delay and the permit will be mailed today.

Kudos to my state rep's office for following through!! Permit will (hopefully) be in my mailbox by weeks end!

That is great to hear that your state rep did that for you. Congrats!
