I'd also mention I've heard good things about the Feather "popular" razor that sells for under $20 most places.

But why buy new cheapies when vintage is such a good deal, or when a Jagger DE89 is so reasonably priced?

Just ordered a TOBS 12 scent sample pack!

JD, I also ordered some of your koolaid (Eau de Quinine). I figure if I don't like it I can just send it to you.

I'm a little unsure of the Eau de Quinine... gonna give it a couple more tries. JD, any of the TOBS scents you want to try? I have a sample pack of all 12 scents.

I've returned to wet shaving about 1 1/2 years ago after almost a 30 year hiatus. I must say I do prefer the double edge much better. I prefer the Gillette Tech, even though I own a couple of Merkurs (bakelight and 1904 OC) an Edwin Jaggers 89 and a couple of assorted old Gillettes. My favorite blades are Bolzano followed by PolSilver SIs. Cella is my regular soap although I have a decent selection of other Italian and a couple of English soaps and tube cremes. My cost is around .40 cents a week. Simpson brushes rule.

So long as I can find DE blades I will not return to the plastic clogmaster cartidges.

I use the Eau de Quinine on select occasions. It has a slightly floral scent. It's also good on the hair like intended. Clubman is always my preferred aftershave.

The TOBS I'm most interested in is Mr. Taylor.

My wife loves Clubman aftershave. She says it's classic and manly. Likes the Bayrum from Sally Beauty supply too.

The wife says the Eau de Quinine smells like cloves. She later said it reminded her of a Christmas ham. She might just be hungry, but either way, I think I'm done with it.

Did you ever order a Fat Boy, Chezuki?

    :n00b: Yes.

I feel like we've already had this conversation...

1960 Fatboy on the way... I'm officially done. I'm checking into rehab before full on RAD sets in...

Congrats on the Fat Boy. I think that my next razor is going to be a toggle.

Finally figured out this Fatboy thing... 9.

9 is the answer. I just got the best shave of my life with it of it.

Now that you have moved past your fear of an aggressive blade exposure, it's time to try a straight razor.
