Probably, if the meat was good and the prices were right. I would rather ignore a sign than trip over hippies in the parking lot.

The problem with no longer shopping there in protest of this merchants lack of a spine is that if enough people follow this thought pattern he goes out of business thus accomplishing what the protesters meant to do in the first place. Personally I'd admonish them for their cowardice and if he responded in such a way as to run of his buying customers then so be it.

I looked this up on reputable news sites, and apparently the OP's link isn't an outright lie. I'm almost vegan (honey is my exception), and this protest is baffling to me. Seems like a waste of effort.

That said, in some parallel universe where I owned the shop I'd shrug and post the sign because who cares? The people who whip themselves into a frenzy over it are as dumb as the people who think protesting a locally-owned independent butcher shop will have a measurable positive outcome with respect to their cause. Foolishness all around.

When protesters show up, turn the hose on them.

Although now that I think about it, it is California. They'd probably be fined for wasting water.

Well, thank you for your vote of confidence that I don't post "outright lies".

It looks like clickbait, and there has been a great deal of actual fake news recently. Do you really fault me for not assuming that it is possible a poster on an internet forum was fooled?

Very enlightened response. Maybe release some dogs too? Anything to shut up those with whom we disagree. The marketplace of ideas is a sham.

And giving in to the protesters is pretty much going to guarantee that he is going out of business also. Might as well be a man about it and choose the own form of your destruction. Or run the protesters off. There are ways to do it without resorting to violence or breaking the law.

They are trying to shut him down (the butcher).
They are not interested in an "exchange of ideas".
    So, ya. Release the hounds.

Where was it that had a BBQ in front of a vegan protest?

Sounds like a plan to me. Steaks, brats, some chicken wings.... Make sure the wind blows it all towards the hippies.
