Analogies to inanimate objects may satisfy those with confirmation bias, but it's simply factual that a firearm cannot act on its own initiative, but animals absolutely can, have, and will.

It's amazing to me how people who I generally consider to be fairly thoughtful posters on this board actually can't see the difference between an inanimate object and an animal with a mind of its own in this thread.

Lots of "super friendly big baby" pit bulls were just that, right up until they ate a toddler for dinner.

Invisibility causes delusions of grandeur and a belief that the rules do not apply to you.

Read H. G. Wells or go on the internet.

    Hypothetical:
Person A - Caucasian, 5'3" 120lbs, looks like they could fall over with a stiff breeze.
Person B - African American, 6'2" 325, "the fridge" so to speak.

Is Person B inherently a "bad breed" because of certain traits? They can physically pick up and snap Person A in half, if they choose to. Most of the time, people in the "Person B" category are good people. Some are not. Some are good people, right up until that one time they were not.

    What? :dunno:

People didn't like the analogy of Pit Bull/Assault Rifle, so I twisted it a little.

Pit Bulls = large black men is probably even worse than Pit Bulls = assault rifles. Maybe. Just a hunch. :):

What's wrong with Pit Bulls = Pit Bulls?

Google "Pit Bull attacks" and tell me how may results you get. The numbers are there, and anyone who compares them to poodles, assault rifles or unusually large black refrigerators is being deliberately obtuse.

And it's not all the owner's fault. Who taught wolves to be wolves?

Good God, I wasn't comparing a dog to a firearm I was referencing the ignorant getting themselves all whipped up into a frenzy about something they obviously know nothing about. "Pit Bull" isn't a breed of dog and there is no such thing as an "assault rifle" yet we hear both terms pissed about by those who don't care to be educated before deciding they have an informed opinion.

It's disappointing when people who can see the stupidity in the type of thinking that allows people to call for the banning of firearms jump right into bed with that kind of thinking when it comes to something they don't like.

    Ok.

Person A is African American and Person B is Caucasian.

Just when I was told how safe and loving pit bulls are I see where a 22 year old was killed by hers, cops say the 2 pit bulls were chewing on her ribcage. Dang…I'll pass on the pit bulls, just give me a cat.

Some of these comments make me very frustrated and sad.
