Well, I hadn't driven my truck in about a week. I went out in the -14F cold this morning and it fired right up. In my experience, you could freeze a Chevy in a block of ice and it'll still go.

Just called the tow service again, now they're saying 5:45 pm. Can't wait to fill out the customer service survey! Initial call at 6:10 a.m., at this rate I'll be able to tow it home with the Honda when the GF gets home.

If I wasn't still using the battery installed in 2007 by GM, I'm sure mine would have started just fine...in fact, now that I changed it, I expect no issues.

I'd help. But I'm at work. And probably too far.

That freakin sucks. I would be contacting supervisors and expressing my joy with their customer service dept.

Pretty much any modern fuel injected vehicle in good working order won't have any problems in this weather. About the only thing of concern is having a good battery

    'preciate that!:yesway:

Given the circumstances I can accept they won't be Johnny on the spot, the thing that pissed me off was the call to the tow company at 830 this morning when they were 1/2 hour late, their response was "We haven't received a service dispatch to that address sir".

Oh well, **** does ocassionally happen and I'm guessing that there are other people that are standing in front of the fan a lot more often than I do.

They did finally show up at 3:45 so it's in the driveway plugged in with a battery charger on it and the heater going.

Who else had to buy a new auto battery today?
This morning I was supremely happy I installed a new battery in our little diesel two weeks ago. My twins who were due in February decided that was too long to wait so we've been hanging out at the hospital since the 25th. While it wasn't as strong as usual it still only ran the glow heater for a few seconds and fired right up.

As for the kids, they made it until the 30th before forcing the issue. They are still early at only 32 weeks and a day but have been taken off all supporting equipment and are doing great. Mom is arguing with some swelling and mild blood pressure issues but otherwise is also doing well.

We were supposed to hit 7...the highest I saw was 3. The accuweather page is showing our low tonight as 1 but that is also our current temperature.

The cat was yelling to go outside...just let her back in. I think she lasted about 20 seconds. Not sure if she when potty or not, but if she has to, she will use the litter box. Silly thing thinks she is a dog.

Congratulations! I missed this earlier as we must have been posting at about the same time. Boys? Girls? Both?? Glad to hear everyone is doing well.

I was in and out of the truck all day running local deliveries in this cold. Wore snow pants over my work pants with my usual "Carhartt" jacket and two layers of my favorite thin polyester socks inside my virtually uninsulated steel toes. I was plenty warm except my feet which stayed cool enough not to sweat, which was my plan. Cold dry feet > cold wet feet

I head back to work tomorrow evening. Just in time for the cold AND lake effect snow.
