NJ school changes gun rule after NRA group's lawsuit threat

Handbook being changed, all the while the school denies, denies, denies.

These bush league despots apparently got some bad news about the limitations of their authority from the school district's attorney.

Contemptible smoke screen from the superintendent.

School administration seems to attract some of the worst control freaks. These sickos love having the power and weilding over the weakest and most vulnerable subjects, i.e., children in school.

The kid brought knives and ammo to school and it wasn't reported to police? I'm trying to find anything on that and can't
Trayvon martin brought weapons to school and wasn't reported to police?

Dude, have another cup of coffee. You're usually sharper than this. Took me about 30 secs to bring up two articles about Cruz, one Rolling Stone one NYTimes (so you wouldn't think the sources were biased :lmfao:) Two separate classmates of Cruz (different one in each article) say he was suspended and his use of backpacks restricted because he was caught with a knife and ammo in school. No police report exists (that is what we're talking about here, no?) and the school isn't talking, so hearsay is the best we've got; but two different sources from two different articles. Make of it what you will

Nobody has said Treyvon also brought weapons to school, but they are pointing out that he was the product of the same lax school discipline and thus might not have been the angel he was portrayed as

Trayvon Martin brought a) drugs and drug paraphernalia, and b) stolen property and burglary tools - not weapons/knives/ammo - to school.

But wouldn't this topic be better discussed in the Parkland school shooting thread?

Probably but it is all about the extensive over reach of the school boards to control issues they have no business in. Same thing all around. Power hungry control freak agenda driven money seeking administrators and people are dying and being socially engineered as a result. It all pretty much fits together but yes, we are getting off the OP's stated reason for the thread.

Sounds like civil rights violation to me. Shooting is not an illegal activity in and of itself, and should fall squarely into the protection offered by the 2A. Sue the bastards.

What civil rights were violated? Violation of Constitutiinal rights? Absolutely. Violation of civil rights? Not so much.

Trayon Martin WAS reported to police, and they even opened an investigation. He never brought any weapons to school, unless we're calling a screw driver a weapon. So apparently this "same" school district handled things differently.

I hope they sue the individuals that are responsible for that policy as well as the individuals that decided to suspend him. It is fine to sue the school but that doesn't get at the real problem which is the individuals that perpetrated this nonsense. There needs to be individual accountability for this crap.

Yep. Lawyers probably helped them come up with this policy. Some other lawyers will get paid to contest it. I hope the second set earns their keep.

Exactly. Do we now have to go deep underground. My 11 year old G-daughter is around firearms everyday. She owns one. This is the summer I will hand her off to the 2 men I trust to train her. She knows she can not openly talk about this at school and man this **** is just ****ing "WRONG"
It Pi$$es me off to a very high level. The indoctrination taking place in the schools right now will not be overcome once these brainwashed kids get to vote. And we are paying for our own demise. Ridiculous. But it is by design.

Far to many heads buried in the sand.

Sadly, Churchmouse, you are correct. And it is far too prevalent.

The worst example is the Mueller probe which was started with lies by the clinton machine and FBI Trump Haters who then abused the FISA Court to generate search warrants illegally. But now that it is started it is impossible to stop.

We need all gun owners to vote in all elections (including school board and superintendent races) to put America back into common sense rule by conservatives not anti-gun nuts. Sadly today universities turn out snowflakes who will not tolerate alternate views to their own.

Just for clarification. This is an opinion. You don't have the security clearance to support this statement as fact.

In that scenario it would've been ignored. You know, like the actions of the Parkland murderer that should have led to multiple arrests but were swept under the rug FOR MONEY.

And yet, Gov Scott has still not suspended that idiot Sheriff Israel, which is the first step to the FL Senate removing Israel.

Never mind the facts that the FBI once again (Boston Marathon Bombing, Pulse Night Club, etc. ) failed to alert local authorities of the dangers which lead to many unnecessary deaths and injuries.

Thankfully, in MD a good guy with a gun stopped the bad guy with the gun (unlike the 4 Broward County Deps who stayed outside)

I apparently didn't follow the parkland shooting close enough, multiple people people should have been arrested but someone was paid not to arrest them?

That's correct. School Superintendent Runcie, Sheriff Israel and Obama DOJ decided that too many arrests were being made in high schools so they decided not to arrest anyone inm order to improve their "violence reduction record" and thereby receive grants from Feds.

This could also be used as an opportunity. Post pictures of your kids legally shooting at a range and doing nothing wrong and hope they get suspended and cash in on the stupidity of some school administrators.

What do you think "civil" means in the phrase "civil rights"? It's usually understood to mean the rights of citizens or civilians, which are what the Bill of Rights meant to protect.
