On one of the 45 or so contacts with Florida, Broward law. He put a gun to his brothers head and threated to shoot him according to info from twitter Dloesh of the NRA spokesman.

He threatened to kill his brother with a firearm and wasn't locked up because obama gave the school a grant to reduce arrests on campus?

I thought the big thing was that the kid never actually committed a prior crime so their hands were tied.

I think you are confusing "the kid never committed a prior crime" with "there was no record of the kid committing a prior crime"

How Did the Parkland Shooter Slip Through the Cracks?

In an effort to combat the “school to prison pipeline,” schools across the country have come under pressure from the federal government and civil rights activists to reduce suspensions, expulsions, and in-school arrests. The unintended consequences of pressuring schools to produce ever-lower discipline statistics deserve much more examination.
Florida’s Broward County, home to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, was among the leaders in this nationwide policy shift. According to Washington Post reporting, Broward County schools once recorded more in-school arrests than any other Florida district. But in 2013, the school board and the sheriff’s office agreed on a new policy to discontinue police referrals for a dozen infractions ranging from drug use to assault. The number of school-based arrests plummeted by 63 percent from 2012 to 2016. The Obama administration lauded Broward’s reforms, and in 2015 invited the district’s superintendent to the White House for an event, “Rethink Discipline,” that would highlight the success of Broward and other localities’ success in “transforming policies and school climate.”

Confessed killer Nikolas Cruz, a notorious and emotionally disturbed student, was suspended from Stoneman Douglas High. He was even expelled for bringing weapons to school. Yet he was never arrested before the shooting. In a county less devoted to undoing school disciplinary policies, perhaps Cruz would have been arrested for one of his many violent or threatening incidents. When Cruz got into a fight in September of 2016, he was referred to social workers rather than to the police. When he allegedly assaulted a student in January 2017, it triggered a school-based threat assessment—but no police involvement.

Sorry, you should google it for more info as he was expelled from school for carrying ammo & knives in a backpack to school, but was only handled at school level and law was not involved I believe. This is just an example of the slope in Broward Co. schools.
Threshold for arrest example was the threat to his brother.

You might want to google Floridas baker act which gives law ability to arrest or detain individuals believed to be danger to themselves or others for a period of time without due process.

I googled that and saw that it was aimed at low level non violent offenses like smoking pot. Didn't see anywhere that it might be read to let off threatening someone with a gun.

I apparently didn't follow the parkland shooting close enough, multiple people people should have been arrested but someone was paid not to arrest them?

The school system was paid more money as the student arrest rates fell to "Acceptable" racial levels as I understand it.

Don't we already have threads to discuss the failures of law enforcement in the Parkland shooting?

We're way off track regarding this NJ kid.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's INGO. I must be new here.

It goes to the system being seriously flawed. At the school admin level decisions are being made that should not be.

Exactly. Do we now have to go deep underground. My 11 year old G-daughter is around firearms everyday. She owns one. This is the summer I will hand her off to the 2 men I trust to train her. She knows she can not openly talk about this at school and man this **** is just ****ing "WRONG"
It Pi$$es me off to a very high level. The indoctrination taking place in the schools right now will not be overcome once these brainwashed kids get to vote. And we are paying for our own demise. Ridiculous. But it is by design.

Far to many heads buried in the sand.

What I don't get is why people keep sending their kids to the socialist indoctrination camps.

Whether the poison is "free" or one was forced to pay for it, it's still poison.

Thats where you as a parent must keep a close eye on what is being taught to your kids. Parental involvement is sorely lacking these days! I've already had talks with my daughters teacher as far as with this common core crap. My daughter does the math the proper "old school way" and the teacher doesn't have a problem with that. I keep very close tabs on what is being taught to my daughter and will have no qualms about making sure its not "poison" She may only be in second grade, but they will definitely push an agenda if you let them. If it gets to where i don't like/believe what they are teaching, she will then be pulled out of school and taught at home! Way to many parents have no clue nor do they care what is being taught!

My daughter is only in kindergarden and every single day I ask her what she is being taught and what the teacher has been telling the class.

    Who pays?

What would you recommend? If a bomb falls short of the range and lands in a farmer's field who pays? If the same pilot cracks afterburner and breaks the windows in the same farmer's house who pays? This kind of crap happens all the time. A school system that decides it has 24/7 jurisdiction? How would you handle it? The residents of NJ seem to like paying taxes, they are reaping what they've sown.

NJ "zero tolerance" policy prohibits possession of firearms on or off campus at any time. Students post pictures of legal firearm use at a gun range, get suspended:

NJ's Lacey Township High School Students Suspended for Off-Campus Gun Pics - The Truth About Guns

Should be an interesting lawsuit in New Jerseystan.
It is stuff like this that makes me happy I moved out of the communist state of NJ 13+ years ago. These people are nuts! Nuts I tell you. Now with that idiot libtard new Governor of NJ things are only going to deteriorate even more. I grew up in NJ and it hurts to see what has happened in that state. Thank you Indiana for being my adopted home.
