Don't think there are many "Trump haters" here. I like him, for the most part. I hope this suppressor talk goes nowhere. I can't see him doing something on it, let alone an EO. It's just a comment he made... a silly one. He's not immune to that.

That's the way I've taken this whole thing. The article posted in the OP was 99.99% NOT about suppressors or the 2A, yet that one little 6 word sentence is what is being focused on?

After actually reading the transcript of the question and answer posted in the OP, to me, this does appear to be more of a throw away line by Trump than anything.

At this point, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and try not to get my panties too twisted. We must all keep a close eye, and if something comes from this later, then we can, and should get ticked off.

That's the way I'm seeing it. But I agree that we should keep pushing to get suppressors de-NFA'd.

Why don't we hear about anything like this until someone says something another does not like? Everyone keeps expecting the NRA or GOP to know exactly where we stand on issues when. I doubt that silencers are on the top of their agenda, doubt it seriously. If silencers are a topic that needs to be addressed, why wait? Get on the phones, emails, NRS, GOA, protests.....whatever it takes to get the point across.

My main interest is keeping America a free country and not go under to socialism. Keeping the USA safe, closing the border, keeping the demoncrats from doing "more" stupid stuff.
Silencer? Well, as important as we may think, it's not up high on the list at this time. Too many other factors that can actually have a huge negative impact in a very short period of time are a priority of mine. Sorry if that disappoints y'all, but I'd rather have a gun without a silencer than no gun at all. Sounds bad? Maybe, but just look at Trump's opposition and tell me which one you'd rather have.

I do see a lot of cry babies who cry all the time on the internet but probably never take any real action to stop anything. Who donated to GOA to stop the bumpstock ban in court? The fight isnt over on bumpstocks. Ill never use one but ill be damned if i surrender my right to own one without a damn fight . Best money (donation) ill ever spend.

The NRA gave bumpstocks away. Trump took their recommendation.

If people dont wanna vote for Trump you do what you want but when the Democrats get the white house back in 2020 and they start marching on our neighborhoods to collect guns, you will be partly to blame so you better be the first ones locked and loaded. It will be time to put your money where your loud mouths have been. Time to walk the walk

Somebody like Ted Nugent or somebody else famous that is pro 2A and has his respect needs to get in his ear and educate him on exactly what they are and how they work. Not to claim he is stupid, but I wouldnt be surprised if he believes hollywood in regards to suppressors. (fire a suppressed 45 and nobody hears it in the next room)

Not saying he wouldnt change his mind, but a quick 10 minute primer and what they REALLY do and how hard they already are to get, as well as their benefits might get him on the right track. As long as it doesnt have any impact on his ego, he seems like a pretty smart guy.

I wonder what he got for the bumpstock ban. He didn't do that for nothing.

But I also don't think suppressors are a "valuable item" for the gun grabbers. We already know they're nothing like the movies. I can't think of a legit reason to want them banned... other than just chipping away at 2A, regardless of how useful the item chipped away is.
