Welcome to INGO where everything is taken out of context and we are always criticizing posts....often without wearing any pants...…...

I will have you know that I am MOSTLY DEFINITELY wearing pants. They're the only thing keeping my Poise pad in place.

I have had the motorist not roll his window down and hold his license and registration against the glass so that I could read it.

The law says the driver has to "display" them to a LEO when stopped for an infraction. They didn't bother to read the case law about what the CoA said that actually meant.

"While Bringle argues that he provided the deputies with the requisite information by displaying his license through the window, we find that such a display did not comply with the mandate of the statute. Thus, we conclude that there was sufficient evidence for the jury to convict Bringle of Refusal to Identify Self."

    Bringle v. State, 745 N.E.2d 821 (Ind. Ct. App. 2010)

While driving, I've been mentally rehearsing not speaking for the next time I get pulled over.

I'm on board with keeping my urge to speak in check and hand the requested documents to the kindly officer. However, in the event that I have to reach in my back pocket to retrieve my wallet, it's going to take some obvious body motion and serious reaching (big dude, short, little t-rex arms). Should I just do that as soon as I pull over, or do it when asked for my license? Should I just reach, or speak enough words to let them know why I am moving so they don't get nervous?
