That's what's coming. I'm in favor. And I've never used the stuff.

Get it legalized and fix the federal firearm purchase requirements. Then we won't have to talk about gun owners breaking laws and committing felonies anymore. I'll be glad to see it.

After that you can get to work on making it illegal for employers to drug test.
    Better world coming...

Except in limited circumstances, I don't see why employers should have say over what the employees do on off-work hours.

I'm absolutely criminal justice reform re: crimes of possession.

Very relevant to the above few posts , this guy applied for a CCW permit (no arrests , should have been approved IMHO) the Sheriffs office somehow obtained medical records from 6 months ago that showed THC in his system. How the Sheriff got HIPPA information I have no idea, but regardless this guy is now not able to get a carry permit or buy guns.... not even going down the rabit hole of not going to the doctors for mental health issues for fear of being reported.

    .
End result of this will be lost jobs or companies having to wave drug screens for employment.

I feel like there could be a lawsuit there. How did they get private medical records?

Seems to me that this person admitted to someone (in an official capacity) using THC in some form which probably resulted in obtaining prior medical records.

What is clear is that there is more here than meets the eye.

This is a straight-forward application of the law.

Don't like the law? Work to get it changed.

Getting all bent out of shape when a law that was on the books for years is applied as it always has been- waste of time.

Final thought, crazy, I know, but until the law is changed, there IS a way to avoid lying on the 4473 or any other paperwork about MJ use.

So the local Sheriff can do this, but NICS can't do the same for legitimate mental health issues? (as in being adjudicated "mentally ill")

I dont care what that chart says. In marion county murders are going up not down. Crime is spreading to areas it wasn't before. Do you live in marion county?

Lived in Marion county since Nov 09.
And spent lots of time here before moving here.

    I love my city.
