One of the replies to him in the comments was this(coming from an associate dean at a Indiana college):

"I am not a bit worried about rights currently. It is about survival and eliminating actions of those who are reckless from impacting everyone else. When someone you know dies from this, you see the degree of effort it takes just to try and treat them - everything else needs to wait. We are too spoiled. It is a war-like environment where everything else stops, and that is what has happened in wars of the past. Manufacturers and entrepreneurs will have to shift their focus for the current market (and upcoming market demands) for goods. It is a new world, we can't ignore that."

When attitudes like this prevail, there will be more Amerika. It's not just the snowflakes that are handing over freedoms and liberties.

PhotoNinja spearheads the morning routine with our 6-month old jelly-bean, and during morning feeding usually has the TV on. This morning it was tuned to NBC, the name I caught was Hoda, and it was all about how terrible things are and how sooo many people are at death's door and it is getting worse. I stood there and caught about 20 seconds and told her to turn that **** off. As much as I dislike Fox59 morning news, I told her to turn to that.

With so many people buying into the panic, it makes it easier for the swamp to obtain even more control. Just my :twocents:

I watch WTHR for the local news in the mornings and usually manage to catch the first hour of NBC (Today Show) and know what you mean. After that I switch to TBS or FYI or History... anything but any kind of national news. And yes, Hoda Kotb is who you're thinking of. She's not nearly as bad as Savannah Guthrie (the co-anchor). You can practically see her salivate at any opportunity to attack Trump or his policies.

    Look at this nonsense! https://www.foxnews.com/science/vid...-spreads-from-a-single-cough-in-a-supermarket
they call it a “scary video” IT’S A DAMN COMPUTER GENERATED CARTOON! Gee, that has to be absolutely accurate, nobody could manipulate THAT to achieve the desired reaction.
They should show that same cartoon, except, close a private business, then watch the chain reaction of other businesses that have to close because the first isn’t supporting the second and so on. If you’re afraid of the virus, quit your job and cower at home, but for ****s sake, do NOT cripple the rest of the ****ing country because of it?

I get the sense on INGO and social media that most Americans are scared. Will this stay at home order ever meet with conflict or will fear prevail and America remain Amerika?

Work did not make the Jews free in the Third Reich, nor were they relocated to Zion.
No threats to America ever materialized from those locked up with Fred Korematsu.
Black Americans never started a race war.
Eradicating smallpox did not require shutting the country down.

The price that has been paid so far cannot be calculated. (I am not just talking about money)

When it is the 4th of July and we are still ordered to stay at home and the summer of 2020 is lost will fear still be the primary emotion or will anger begin to be present?
Ill ask, what have you done to disobey? Your check still comes, but it’s nice that you speak of better things. Myself, I’m OUT everyday trying to scramble for work from people that lost 60-80% of their revenue, NOT income, REVENUE. It’s not working so well for me. So, tell me, what is your idea to stem the slide into AMERIKA? Have you missed your first, or second check yet?

Id suggest you look through all my previous threads to find out exactly how ineffective these programs have been so far. Yes, I’ve applied for EIDL MULTIPLE TIMES, as their system has crashed several and lost the info, I’ve also applied for PPP, but my bank, as well as many others, are ****ING LOST as to what is going to happen. So, I am NOT staying home, what pray tell are YOU doing?

For one, I'm not worried about others getting a pay check. I actually feel good for them. I'm sorry you're dealing with this.

Yup, I’m the bad guy for owning my own business. GFY. I wasn’t forced into it, but yes I WAS forced OUT of it.

It is rare that Left and Right agree on something. Free Trade Deals come to mind. When candidates from both sides support the policy, it's almost impossible to stop it. There are factions on both sides beginning to push back, but it's too little, too late.

Same deal with the virus scare. We know what the Statist-Leftists want. Their position was a given from day one. What's interesting is when you look at Republicans like Mike DeWine from Ohio. You have a statist Republican, with a little twinge of nerdy evangelical pro-life thrown in. Left and Right agree...Boom. Lockdown.

Throw in an aging population, epidemic obesity and the complications which stem from it, and top it off with over-the-top media hysteria, and I guess the result shouldn't have been surprising.

We have seen the enemy, and once again...Pogo was right.

April 10: Growing concern President Trump might actually make good on his "threat" to re-open the economy.

Predictably, the large-scale, coordinated push-back is being rolled out into the media:

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/opin...ore-people-killed/ar-BB12rpl2?ocid=spartandhp

"...Former head of the Food and Drug Administration Scott Gottlieb was emphatic about the need for widespread testing on Thursday, tweeting: “Even when we’re likely to seek to reopen parts of America in May and June, there will be baseline spread. The epidemic won’t simply collapse. Against that backdrop, we need much more test capacity to safely make transition to normal life." In a report released on March 29,Gottlieb recommended that “a national capacity of at least 750,000 tests per week would be sufficient to move to case-based interventions when paired with sufficient capacity in supportive public-health infrastructure (e.g., contact tracing).” We would also need to invest in new tools to make it efficient for providers to communicate test results and make data easily accessible to public-health officials working to contain future outbreaks...”

What "tools" might they be talking about?

Remember the discussion INGO had about the college where students had to download an app to register their attendance at class? Read the following excerpt from the article below:

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/mar...nomy-theyre-scary/ar-BB12rl2r?ocid=spartandhp

The CAP and Harvard plans both foresee a digital pandemic surveillance state in which virtually every American downloads an app to their phone that geotracks their movements, so if they come into contact with anyone who later is found to have Covid-19, they can be alerted, and a period of social quarantine can begin..."

Running through the usual INGO responses of, "Meh, that doesn't apply to me," or "I just won't comply," or "This is a discredited source?" As if Harvard, the American Enterprise Institute, and Center for American Progress all have no way of getting their ideas politically implemented?

Don't think the stores you buy your beenie-weenies at will fall in line with "the guidelines?" Continuing:

"...As a condition of receiving a COVID-19 test in the future, individuals may be required to download the app, which would include their test result. For others, the app would be voluntary, although the vast majority of people could be expected to download it to see if there are cases in their neighborhood or near their workplace..."

The question becomes: how much do you trust America?

    Do you feel "lucky?"

Feel free to quote me if I'm wrong, and I very well may be, but I do not see Trump allowing this to spread. He's shut down Fauci every time Fauci has suggested such measures, and also has shut down media every time they suggest something similar.
He seems very much against the concept.

If I'm wrong, that's what the 2A exists for. Because yes, that would unquestionably be grounds to do what shall not be discussed, even without provocation beyond such a measure. That is your automatic "anything you do to stop it is justified and morally righteous" card.

You know, I got to admit, he might be the right president for this, right now.

Well I am sure as heck thanking my lucky constellations, solar systems, and entire galaxies Hillary isn't President right now. Every possible dimension of the suck-assness of this situation would be getting exponentially worse with her in office.

Back to Tombie's comment, I don't see it being as draconian as he's supposing. I would imagine a situation where .gov simply doesn't allow you to receive your test result any other way except by downloading an app. Of course on some level I would think "45" could quash this. But on the chance this isn't over after election day, and it rolls right on over into the next Presidency...might we have ourselves a little somethin'-somethin' here, which might resemble what could be called, dare I say it...an "Election Issue?" Sorta like when Merrick Garland was poised to join SCOTUS if Hillary won?

I think "our" position for this election needs to be: how much power do you want to give Gubmint to quash your freedoms in future instances like this? Given the fact that Chinese citizens seem to like eating bat-brains almost as much as they like freedom, and therefore, this likely isn't the end of this nightmare?

Interesting news for our friends in Kentucky. How much will people take? I just might cross the bridge and attend church in Owensboro Sunday :ar15:

Gov. Andy Beshear has issued an executive order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 this Easter.

During his daily press conference, Beshear said if anyone goes to mass gathering this weekend, such as church, that person’s license plate will be recorded by police.

That information will be forwarded to health departments and health officials will come to that person’s house with an order to self-quarantine for 14 days, he said.

“We absolutely cannot bring people together in one building like that. That's how the coronavirus spreads, and that's how people die,” Beshear said.

Don’t we always say, whenever we give them power, they never give it back? This is no different, we gave them control over our lives and livelihoods, if you think for a second they will relinquish that...get used to the “new” norm Comrade.
