Where are you getting that motive? The article clearly states the church had not been holding services.

Staggering kids coming into and leaving school. 1 kid per seat on the bus and skipping seats. They'll have to run 10 times as many buses and kids wont be getting home till 8pm at night. So since this all started, a "higher level" of LEO has been standing inside Kroger.

The one I saw today was all tacticool, chest rig filled up, arm resting on chest-holstered handgun like it was a rifle.
