We buy most of our meat at value market, but I’ve heard people say their meat doesn’t have much fat in it. I dunno, I’m no chef but I’m a hell of a food critic

I love Value Markets baking chops. Cook them over low heat on the grill on a Yoshi copper grill mat so that the pork stays moist. Awesome. Gosport Value market also does some very good fried chicken when I get the craving. Better than KFC I believe. Never really been a boneless wings guy, probably since I never had the lifestyle that would put me somewhere that served them. If I went to a Hooters, I would get a Quesadilla, which is the best food on their menu IMHO.

Sorta off topic but Value Market has been mentioned a few times. I’ve only been there once but was very disappointed. I bought about 15lbs of ribeyes and was very disappointed in the taste and texture. They did have several pre-packaged foods that I bought and was happy with. I was really happy to find they had the hot and spicy Big Reds. I’d been looking for those for a few years.
Maybe I got some poorer quality ribeyes but hard to give them a second chance when they were all pretty lousy tasting.

As for favorite wings, Wrigley Field in FTW is my favorite. I'm not a big sauce guy on my wings, and I hate tobasco/franks flavor in general, and their regular "hot" wings are mostly done with some sort of dry rub that is outstanding. Order them extra spicy for dining perfection.

Sadly, I haven't had any in ages now as my travels long ago took me out of the greater Georgetown area. :(

I've had pretty moderate luck with ribeyes from Sam's. I've had very good luck with them if you consider their typical cost on them. Flavor is usually very good, but sometimes they can be a bit chewy for that cut.

So, you're saying there's a reason to there?

I like the dry rubs at Bdub's.

For carryout, before sunset, 10 years ago, yes. :) Dine is an okay experience if you're early. I don't care for the later crowd, especially now as I'm getting to be an old man. When I was 23 it was fine.

Didn't know Bdubs had dry rubbed style. It's been well over 10 years since I was much of a bar fly so things have changed!

They have the absolute best bacon. And if you buy >5lbs its actually cheaper per pound than 12 oz generic bacon at big box stores!

Maybe I’ll give them a shot on some bacon. We’ve been eating a lot lately. Lots of fresh tomatoes from the garden right now. I can eat BLTs every other day for several weeks!

I grew up down that way.
Value Market has a Facebook page and they put up their weekly specials if anyone is interested.

I might have to check it out sometime. Looks like it's just under half an hour from me. Just looked at their meat specials this week and prices look decent. T-bones $5.99/lb. is pretty good!

I can't read the whole thread so my partial conclusion is.... Chickens don't use the wings for flying. I don't care.

Chickens with bones in their wings can at least fly short distances. Chickens with boneless wings have to just stand there, with their wings hanging limp by their sides. Sad really.

That's what I was guessing since Hatin' is from there, and Cameramonkey isn't too far from there either.

It's good to know I should never drink the water if I'm ever in Mooresville. We've got one friend chicken and bacon hater and then, well, you know.

    Also, ban Hatin'.

Don't they "contain" chickens in a cage and make full use of all their parts? I doubt they get a chance to fly at all. Range rats? Sure, maybe a few yards at a time.
