I'm going to make a wild guess here that Trump hasn't even touched doing his own taxes for decades. I'm betting he's had a whole slew of tax lawyers do this for him for years and years. I'd actually be surprised if he truly had any part of it not done by real pro's.

So, if he only pays "X" any given year, I'd just chalk that up to having very highly paid and talented lawyers and tax experts that know every single loophole built into the tax code and exactly how to take maximum advantage of that insane set of tax rules we get to deal with as they change every year.

Basically, I'm thinking that everyone rich enough to do this, does this. Good for them, I guess.

I just file this one in the "who cares" file and move on to something important, like how many new pics of redheads show up in the women with guns thread.

You might be right. But if you are, and the story is accurate, you do know that means Trump lied, right? It also completely destroys the myth of him being some financial genius. I don’t see very many blue collar “fence-sitters,” having the “who cares” attitude based on these revelations (again if true).

what evidence do you have he would sell the WH for personal gain? Hillary did it as SOS with expectations of a presidency. Te
rump.org has STOPPED doing new international business deals once he got elected.

he is doing the exact opposite of what you allege he WILL do. who did you vote for in 2016?

Tax cheat? No. Loser? Yes. But if he wins a second term, I'm confident he will try to sell the White house to pay back is millions in loans that are due soon.
And where did it state these were stolen?
    Letter from the editor: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/27/us/trump-taxes-editors-note.html
"Some will raise questions about publishing the president’s personal tax information. But the Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled that the First Amendment allows the press to publish newsworthy information that was legally obtained by reporters even when those in power fight to keep it hidden. That powerful principle of the First Amendment applies here"

How do we know the Trump.org has stopped seeking new international business? Is there some federal law that requires such? If not, I wouldn’t believe that at all, especially if it’s the Trump.org making that claim.

I paid my fair share one year. I divided the national debt by the number of US citizens, and yep I paid more than that. I am still waiting for everyone else to pay their part. When I bought my home I was unemployed. I did nothing illegal. The TDS is strong. I do not want to own stuff. I want to have authority over stuff. Why buy it if you get to use it for free?

Hey as long as the economy is doing well under his leadership ( current covid situation notwithstanding) I don't really have an issue with his personal taxes or proclaimed business acumen. I care about economic policy that affects me.

I'm sure the media has been searching long and hard for evidence to the contrary. If they could find it you can bet it would be plastered all over the place.

I’d challenge that sentiment. And I’ll have you note, that Trump is by no means the originator of this, but an economy “doing well,” shouldn’t mean spending ourselves further into debt with an immediate economic benefit, if all we’re doing is passing on the receipts to future generations.

    Lied about?

Do many people really think he is some kind of financial genius? I know I never have.

I doubt many blue collar fence sitters will care about his taxes. They probably care much more about their own taxes and their pay checks. Might be more than a few that don't like all of the anti-American vitriol coming from the other side too. The Democrats beat drum after drum telling us how horrible we are. I'm white collar and far from a Republican, and I know I am really tired of it.

Nope. He hasn’t been prosecuted.... yet. We can revisit this when his “audit” is complete.
Missed this reply to my post. Don't you think the IRS have'nt already been scrutinizing his tax filings and business dealings for quite some time?

If any of you believe his Taxes were not looked over by the IRS all ready then man I have lost what little faith I had.
The year we filed a big loss they were up our tail pipes with flash lights and tweezers. At our level of income so man I can only imagine how he has been under the lens.

is that how it works? how do you prove you're NOT doing something?

YOU are the one who has to prove them to be liars rather than scoff at their claim until they what, show you an empty table with a sign that says "all of our new international business deals since 2017"?

trump is the most investigated president ever and he's coming out pretty damned good.

    I've missed you kut

I think it's cute the usual suspects on here think this is gonna make a bit of difference. A businessman paying, I'm sure more than 1, tax accountants and tax lawyers to use the current tax laws to his advantage. What is this? Nothingburger #22? 38? 47?

    What a ****ing joke!

Nothing but another distraction to try and pry minds away from the **** show that is known as Sleepy Joe

    Exactly.

Occam’s Razor precludes that the job of “most powerful man in the world with the ability to nuke the planet” doesn’t just pull one over on the entire world/country/whoever when the media and dems have been up his ass with a dental pick and a miner’s lamp since he even thought about running.

Al Sharpton and Willie Nelson are behind on taxes too...whoopty freakin’ doo...

If this was the bombshell people wanted it to be, it would have been released just before the debates. The timing and lack of any meat just looks like this is yet another busted flush.
