Personally, I do not see a need for testing unless and until I'm symptomatic. Since Im retired and have been in sort of a self-imposed quarantine and there is no real treatment for this, I just don't see a need to be tested. I regularly give blood to the Red Cross and they are now (currently) testing for antibodies. I've had two donations show up negative for antibodies so I'm pretty sure I have not had covid. If I deploy with the Red Cross I may need to get tested at the start and end of the deployment and Im ok with that.

Like others have said, there may be valid reasons (e.g. work, travel, football).

Let's not be quick to condemn.

I don't think you understand the rules. Once one has seized the moral high-ground by calling people "sheep", there is no retort. They have made a different decision that I would have; therefore, they are sheep. Case closed.

In regards to my original question. Why would someone asymptomatic without contact of a known case go get tested? I call them "sheep" because I have no other name for them.

You have received several answers that have nothing to do with "I'm just so scared."

Oh, and we've all been "exposed" and probably are, to a greater or lesser extent every day. I have never been tested, but it doesn't bother me in the least if someone does get tested. Many have to, some want to, either way I don't know how we can make broad generalizations about personalities simply knowing that a person got tested.

Fine. But I at least can choose to be a Suffolk, the noblest (and tastiest) breed of sheep.

The sheep largely are democrats as evidenced by the Gallup poll recently conducted. Living in their sheep pens with mind transmission thought control provided by CNN and their ilk, only 3% of democrat women would open things up, and 80% of them are worried about getting wuwho flu. These are absolutely ridiculous numbers completely out of line with the reality of what has transpired with the virus.

They are called sheep because they are fearful and have no ability to evaluate risk and danger...

The amount of "Christians" on INGO mocking people for being "sheep" simply boggles the mind.

yep. and an "exposure" doesn't mean you'll contract it. in fact vast majority "exposed" people will NOT contract it from a specific exposure
