Original question, Why the restrictions on classifieds...

Well, because of the thousands that come here and try to treat it like armslist or gunbroker.
Because some people treat the place like customers that can't bother to get the cigarette ashes in the ashtray.
Because the owner wants it that way.

    A, B, or C.

Or some combination of all three.

    Either way, it's 50 or $20.

A post a week, for one year gets that.
If you don't post a lot, I still recommend trying to hit that target.
Because, you might be here for years, and then all of a sudden, something in the classies catches your eye and you want it.
And if you had put in the 50, there'd be no problem.

Because everyone tends to think I can be sarcastic, and/or mean...
    This is not sarcasm.
    This is not mean.

It is, the way it is.
    Nothing more.
    Nothing less.
At that pace you can see the same item for sale twice, maybe even 3 times!

    Seems much longer...

Seriously? This is the kinder, gentler part of the Internet.

Who exactly are "they"? Is it me? Well, speaking for "they", your statement is incorrect. "They" would much rather have members active in discussions. This helps with the vetting process important to many who buy, sell, and trade in the classifieds. Site Supporter? Sure we encourage it. It helps pay the bills for what is an incredibly important communications platform. Stick around and you'll see why I say that.

20? I think I dropped 20 of your one-liners, and there are 5 of "they" here.

"They" really haven't thought about it. Got cats to herd and threads to keep between the ditches. Also got reports to handle and classifieds to review.

That's cool by me, AKA "they".

I'm done being harsh now. Time to give the classifieds a look since that's a big part of what "they" do.

    Yes, actually.

He said I was a good guy....

Guess I'll have to pay him that $20 now.

Which I hear will cover the site supporter fee.....
I just dont get the resistance to drop a $20 and be done with it. Its not that much money. You drop more than that at Outback without blinking.

Its $20 per YEAR. Not $20/ad or $20/month.

And if you are here to sell, you'll make up that portrait of Jackson on your first sale.

And mods dont even get a cut of that, so its not like we push it to line our own pockets.
