      .408 Chey-Tac

      I would suggest getting a 308 as the next step. I have the Savage BAS, and have been extremely happy with it. 500 yards doesn't seem to be a problem for it at all. The 308 and the 300 win mag are good rifles to take the next step.

      I know at one time, they had two different rifles.One was military and the other was civilian. The civilian was the less of the guns. The gun itself is a fine piece, but the ammo is hard to come across.

      +1 on what TheAutomator said. Have you ever tried to remove the barrel & reseat it again. I would try a good cleaning first.

      Civilian # vs military# It is sometimes hard to no which guns are what, when you change over from the civilian side to the Military side. I know a few but would like some more info. Correct me if I'm wrong on mine. Barrett 82 = m107 FN mag 58 = m240

      I agree that we need to support any ranges that we can. There is a lot of ranges that go under every year. Just because you might have a range of your own now, doesn't mean that you or a family member in the future might need a range.:twocents:
